The New Look Philadelphia 76ers
PHILADELPHIA – It has been two days time since the Philadelphia 76ers made two franchise defining trades that sent shockwaves throughout Philadelphia and the entire CSL. After having finalized the two momentous three team deals, the Sixers have released the first draft of their new look depth chart. But first, we’ll take a look at their old depth chart circa the induction of the new 76ers GM, StOfTheStep (5/29/14):
PG – Mo Williams
SG – Dwayne Wade
SF – Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
PF – Ersan Ilyasova
C – Andrew Bynum
6th Man – Linas Kleiza
7th – Randy Foye
8th – Jon Scheyer
9th – Arnette Moultrie
10th – Von Wafer
11th – Mike Sweetney
12th – Gilbert Arenas
13th – Mike Muscala
While this can be seen as an experience lineup, it seems like it still missing a few pieces to truly contend. The problem presented to the new GM was the fact that there were no valuable assets that were available to move without disrupting the core of the team. So making a more orthodox, yet controversial move, StOfTheStep decided to not blow up but alter the Sixers’ core. Making it known around the CSL inner circle, the GM made Wade and Ilyasova readily available for trade. Being 32 and 30, respectfully, the goal was to make the roster younger and build around their 26 year old star center, Andrew Bynum.
As mentioned in the last Insider article, not only did the roster get younger, but they got considerably younger (by about an average of 5 years) and talented. After dealing off their main two pieces (in the persons of Wade and Ilyasova) in two separate transactions, the 2014-2015 Philadelphia 76ers took the form in a radically different shape:
PG – Jimmer Fredette
SG – Eric Gordon
SF – Lance Stephenson
PF – Derrick Williams
C – Andrew Bynum
6th Man – Marreese Speights
7th – Arnette Moultrie
8th – Jordan Williams
9th – Keith Appling
10th – Mike Muscala
11th – Linas Kleiza
12th – Ian Mahinmi
13th – Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
14th – Chuck Hayes
This new look lineup has a combination of promising rookies (Gordon, Williams, Stephenson) and solid NCAA players who haven’t quite lived up to their potential yet (Fredette, Speights). Though it may not be a guaranteed contender here, as it seems to have a couple holes (at point guard, namely), there is a definite chance that this combination of undeveloped talent could become a CSL contender. Now the results of these player movements might not take affect for a few seasons, but if the management decides to go the course with these players, maybe we’ll all be pleasantly surprised.

It was clear that Bynum, pictured above, needed help to push the Sixers into the upper echelon.

I'd give minutes to Chuck Hayes. Believe me, he's very underrated and was playing very well for my team when his name was called.
All in all, develop your players, use your picks wise, spend your CAP well and next season you'll have a nice shot at the playoffs. With Bynum and Gordon, everything is possible.
I'd focus 2 defensive players who can also shot the 3 at PG and SF, and slide Stephenson for the 6th man role.

Yea, this year is definitely going to be an experiment from here on out. We will definitely be trying new lineups and strategies often to see what sticks.

Good summarize by Marcos.
Stephenson would be a great 6. man. A second unit with Jimmer (shooter) and Lance (distributor + slasher) will be huge.
No idea how scouting is handled for new joiners, but maybe cash in your first for a PG. This years draftclass sucks anyway.
Good to see somebody pretty active and cool joined the league!

Glad to see some new life there in Philly. Personally, I'm not a fan of Gordon but I understand what you are doing. It was smart to cash in on Wade and bring in some talent. You have Bynum which is a + right off the bat. You can build your team around him without a doubt.
Best of luck with the 76ers!
