2013-2014 CSL Top 5 (SF)
Next up on the list is SF. It's also not as strong a position, especially with LeBron James at the PF spot for the entire year, and is composed of a lot of defenders.
*The standard is solely based on performance during the 2013-2014 season, and not who the best players are or who I'd want to have most. I tried to consider all factors, including team, record, efficiency, and etc.
1. Kevin Durant (MIA): 31.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 68.8% TS, 36.0 PER
Durant had a terrific year, winning his 2nd ring and Finals MVP at just 24 years of age. He led the league in PER and TS%, and his team won a league-best 74 games, even though he missed 27. Everything went just right for him this season it seems.
2. Carmelo Anthony (DET): 25.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 55.2% TS, 21.2 PER
Melo had himself a decent year, getting traded midway through the season and really elevating his team. He had a terrific second half of the season, and the rising Pistons are undoubtedly excited to build around him and have a full year to experiment with. He just hasn't been in ideal situations until now, so it's nice to see him finally do well for himself.
3. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (CHA): 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 52.9% TS 18.5 PER
The 2nd overall pick sophomore had an improved overall season. He increased his efficiency all-around and became more of a ball-handler and passer. He obviously doesn't have the great scoring potential that other young stars have, but he's a great complement to anyone with his ability to defend at a high level and also handle the ball a little bit.
4. Andre Iguodala (HOU): 18.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 48.8% TS, 16.2 PER
Iguodala was a great acquisition by the Rockets, who turned out to be a very good complement to James Harden on the wings. He wasn't the embodiment of efficiency obviously, but he played a ton of minutes and was one of the best perimeter defenders in the entire league.
5. Chandler Parsons (MIN): 16.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists 50.3% TS, 17.0 PER
Parsons is now in Minnesota, but he had a great year for the New York Knicks as he led the team in the Playoffs with his exceptional play. If he can continue to get better in Minnesota, it's gonna be a great addition for them.

"Sir kevin" is a monster, IMO better than lebron, carmelo i think that have a big salary, and never will win the championship for me only good shooter.
Probably the sf position except six or seven names, is poor in efficiency respect others of the league.

Good list. Perhaps H.Barnes also belongs in there somewhere.
Agree that SFs look somewhat weaker as a group, at least compared to the previous two reviews of PGs and SGs

I may have overlooked him now that you mention it, but I still feel like Parsons had a better year, especially considering his play in the Postseason compared to Barnes'. Parsons was also more of a focal point I'd say as well.

Didn't expect Parsons to make the top5 tbh, but I'm pretty happy he managed to get that far in just the second year as a Knick.
He was a very important piece in our team, and we'll miss him badly this year. Still I hope he can continue developing his game in Minnesota!

Didn't realize how shallow the pool of very good SFs is. Position scarcity makes these top guys even more valuable.

Interesting list. Personally, like others have mentioned, I would choose Harrison Barnes over Parsons, but you can't go wrong with either.

Good list and like everyone else said, SF is weaker than most other positions. Glad to see Melo get some respect and MKG is going to be a stud in the league.

SF has less depth, but Durant, Melo and LeBron make sure this is a more top-heavy category. Also, Paul George qualifies as a SF (I know not per OPs article) and he will be a legit threat year-in/year-out shortly.
Way to go MKG! Now let's hope that ECF run will pay off from a ratings standpoint!

Re: 2013-2014 CSL Top 5 (SF)
Glad Iguodala was Top 5 and as stated he turned out to be a great (dare I say perfect) fit next to James Harden. I think he was key in Harden's rise as a player.
Harrison Barnes just missing out and I'll throw another name out there who also could've been considered, Kawhi Leonard.
Also as good as OKC is with LeBron at PF, he needs to be playing SF imo. No way should he be in your next iteration of this list featuring PF's but it's a shame.
Great list once again.

Some great players on this list. As mentioned, lot of star power up top. We sure hope here in Orlando we have a player or two make one of these lists eventually.

Yeah looking at the numbers again KD was insane. Doubt he can replicate it, we played him some ISO early in the season and he only played 55 games.
Really, really doubt he can do that again in an 82-game season. A lot of the stars lined up for him it seems.

My original post was something along the lines of Durant must be amazing given on paper, I was unsure of how this team was so successful but the run without Durant shows the rest of the team just mixes well together so it's a packaged deal.
