Would you do this trade?

I don't know how to add a poll, but just wanted you guys's opinions.

The two players' values being compared are Tony Snell and Isaiah Canaan.

Snell was picked 38th in last year's draft and is 22 years old, Canaan 39th and is 23 years old. Both are 2.5* rating potential players.

Now let's say you were offered Snell for Canaan.

Your reaction is:
A. Hmmm, their values are more or less similar. Meh, depends on positional need.
B. I'd do it. Snell is definitely better than Canaan. / I wouldn't do it. Canaan is definitely better than Snell.
C. Hell no! You think I'm an idiot? How dare you. I'm so outraged by your insane offer.

A. They're both middle of the road role players, depends on what you need.

I couldn't find where to add a poll either. I would vote A as well though.

The GM that started this topic cannot really get to the point so just re-make the question

Would you trade Canaan for Snell if you were W's GM having Wilson Chandler and Jan Vesely at SF and only JWall and Canaan at PG? Adding that MIA's roster is the best of all with diference, he is on your Division so is direct rivalry?

A: Wouldn't mind to make the trade.

B: I will go for it (Snell) at all cost.

C: Just will pass...

Oh no no no. The reaction I got from you was nowhere near "I will just pass....". It wouldn't be an issue if so.

I've reflected it more accurately in the opening post.

I know some may try to stay away from dealing directly with a division rival but I am in the class of GMs that will make a deal with any team if it betters my own franchise.

This. I'd venture to say that when teams don't trade with in-division rivals it's more of a PR thing than anything.  The impact isn't as significant as say pro baseball where less teams make the playoffs and you play each other far more times.

I think it should be all about value and the betterment of the franchise. At least that's how I look at it. I would deal with the Clippers if it meant I was improving in some respect.

As for this particular case, I think it boils down to need really - how else can you differentiate the value in this case with two very similarly talented players?

So does anybody here think Snell is a good player for us?

at the bottom of the bench it really depends on position need but I feel Snell is a better SF than Cannan a PG. I'd prefer Snell overall since I think a PG should have a higher Handling/Passing and prefer a veteran presence there. With Snell you get a SF who can play D so the value is easier to evaluate imo.

If there are a number of SFs on the team already then there is no use for Snell. So if this post is now about the response that OP got I think a simple 'no, thank you' is enough... there are so many rip off offers that GMs make (that can make you angry at times) but this is not one of them...

Follow-up question. When faced with an "alleged" bad trade offer, which is apparently only bad because of FIT and not VALUE (according to 4 third-party GMs), do you:

A. Kindly decline; thanks but no thanks dawg.
B. Respond with a curt "no".
C. Get mad, then go on to personally insult the person who sent the trade offer, and accuse him of constantly trying to cheat other GMs, despite having just joined the league and this being the first conversation with said GM.

I like snell more..

To join the offtopic, actually Im most pissed by those "mh I dont like this offer I wont response" GMs. If they want something they expect you to answer, but if you are asking for a player they dont even answer with a friendly "no" or at least tell their thoughts. Beside guys like OP, BI, Jake, Higrade and some others its really frustrating to message somebody concerning a possible trade. Not sayin' the offers I shoot are always great ones, but at least an answer or some Type of negotiating should be possible.. I would be even satisfied with a Short "no".

Yep, I think we owe a reply to every trade offer that comes, even a really crappy one.

A simple "no" takes three seconds and would suffice.

It's frustrating when you don't know haha.

I know I'm not the most outgoing GM to talk to when it comes to trading but I like to think I respond to all trade inquiries.

Why is this trade information being outed then asking other gm's opinion of outed trade proposal?

This is terrible to be done by a gm and not as a rumor, also seems like either bad blood or the start of it.
