Scouting System

The system is composed of two components: Scouting and Workouts


Scouting
1. There will be eight scouting periods, one for each regular season month from November to April, as well as one before the season and one during the playoffs.

2. In order to be eligible for scouting, you must have submitted either one CSL Insider or two CSL Wiretap articles during the last two periods. For instance, an article written and submitted for November could also be used for December. You must post the link to the article(s) in your comment when you submit your scouting.
2a. Also, one wiretap article will qualify you for one month of scouting, so if you have only posted one wiretap article during a period, you are good for that period and that period only.

3. If you want to qualify for Silver Scouting, you must have written either two CSL Insiders or four CSL Wiretap articles during the last two periods (they can be combined, so you could do 1 Insider and 2 Wiretaps). If you want to qualify for Gold Scouting, you must have written either three CSL Insiders or six CSL Wiretap articles during the last two periods (also combine-able).

4. Bronze reports will have six scouts at their disposal, silver and gold will have 5.

5. Your scouts will report on the following categories:

Inside Shooting
Outside Shooting
Free Throw
Scoring Ability
Passing
Handling
Offensive Rebounding
Defensive Rebounding
Defense
Shot Blocking
Stealing
Discipline
IQ

6. Bronze reports have 5 current letter grade ranges and 3 potential letter grade ranges, Silver has 8 current and 4 potential, and Gold has 12 current and 5 potential.

7. Each period you scout, you earn 3 points towards the end of season scouting that may be used in the Combine or the Workout portion.

NBA Combine
1. The NBA combine consists of interviews and workouts.

2. Day 1 of the combine will be for Team Interviews. For each player you Interview, you will get a grade for the following categories:

IQ (potential), Consistency, Greed, Loyalty, Play for winner, Desire for Playing time, Personality, Durabilty, Work Ethic (+/- 10)

3. You will be allowed as many Interviews as points you earned during the Scouting period minus the number you use for Workouts. 

4. Day 2 of the combine will be Workouts

5. You will be allowed as many Workouts as points you earned during the Scouting period, minus the number of points you used on Interviews.

6. Workouts will reveal the following:

FGD FGI FGJ FG3 FT - current rating (+/- 4)
SCR PAS HDL ORB DRB DEF BLK STL - current rating (+/- 7), potential rating (+/- 15)

Pre-Draft Camp
1. Finally, there will be the Pre-Draft Camp. This will consist of four teams of 12 playing a round-robin style tournament. Each team will be evenly distributed with draft prospects.

2. The box scores for those games will be made available for everyone to see.
