MIAMI - CHICAGO II
MIA trades: Tiago Splitter, Alec Brown (rights), Deonte Burton (rights)
CHI trades: Monta Ellis, Rudy Gobert, Marquis Teague
MIA outgoing:
Splitter - 11,500,000
Brown (rights)
Burton (rights)
CHI outgoing:
Ellis - 11,550,000
Gobert - 1,551,840
Teague - 1,149,950
Total - 14,251,790
MIA accepts. We really love Splitter obviously, but with our young bigs and the recent McAdoo acquisition, he once again became the odd man out as the oldest and most expensive of the bigs.
Ellis is a top scorer and 2-guard, which is something we really lacked, and I think the past two Playoffs have shown the importance and value of volume scoring. We like the idea of one of Ellis/Durant always on the floor.
We also really like Teague as a pass-first defensive PG. He's great insurance for us in case FA doesn't go our way...
Lastly, we legitimately complete the Brown/Gobert swap that got rejected.

I agree we are overloaded with bigs now and I love Ellis but splitter is to good to pass up. Also as OP mentioned it makes gobert for brown work
