Greivis Vasquez Returns to the Big Easy

Greivis Vasquez has announced today that he will be re-signing with the Pelicans. He signed a 5 year, 6.5M per year deal with 4% annual raises. There are rumors that Vasquez will be traded, but as of now he is heading back to New Orleans.

"I hope to stay in New Orleans, but they have told me that there is a good chance I will be traded. I'm aware of the teams they are talking to and I have approved both of those locations," said Vasquez in his statement. "If they don't trade me, I'll be happy, but if they do, I'll be happy with where they plan to send me."

Wow, that's pretty cheap for Vasquez. I guess NOLA couldn't find anyone to trade with.

Hmmm, actually feels like a slight overpay. Probably what NOLA had to pay though, since I'm sure contenders were throwing MLE money at him.

If we re-signed him during the season it would have started at $9m so this seems like a discount. He is on the trade block and we are willing to listen to offers.
