DETROIT, MI -- The Pistons just signed both Norris Cole and Markieff Morris to two year minimum salary deals to round out the Pistons bench for the upcoming season.  They have one roster spot open, but are planning to leave it that way to facilitate trades mid-season.  With what started off as a somewhat busy off-season, the Pistons finished with a little more than a whisper with these signings.  Still, management is excited to see what this roster can do with a full season under their belt.

GM emplep7 wrote:I really like where this team is at right now.  We had offered both the MLE and LLE to a few players around the league and once they were not accepted we decided to fill our roster with quality veterans who still had some room to grow, but who could contribute right away to our team and I think we found that with Norris [Cole annd Markieff [Morris].  Also with the incoming of rookies Perry Ellis and Elfrid Payton, as well as Wilson Chandler and Jamal Crawford, we feel that we have improved our depth significantly and put ourselves in a great place to challenge for the Eastern Crown.  With Miami's GM suddenly leaving, anything is possible now.

Word is that Evan Turner was offered the MLE and that Trevor Booker was being offered the LLE from the Pistons, but with their main targets gone they decided to save that money and stay under the luxury tax threshold.  For now it looks like the Pistons have their roster set for the upcoming season.

Nice subtle moves made up there in Motown.

I like it, nice way to build upon your Playoff experience from last season and with an entire season with Melo and Co together the Pistons could be a real force.
