"Kirilenko will be in a Warriors uniform next season, after signing a questionable 3-year contract."

Oakland,CA - Finally the Warriors have made a splash. It comes on one of the final days of free agency and he's one of the very last players to have his name called. Monday morning the Warriors agreed to a 3-year contract with 33-year old veteran Andrei Kirilenko worth roughly $15,000,000 as the team puts their MLE to use. The final year of the deal includes a player option, leaving the decision up to Andrei when he is 35 years old. This move may be scrutinized considering its a bit long for a role player of his age, but the team simply did what was necessary to get him to sign.

GM Higrade wrote:"The length of the contract was of no concern. The concern of this Warriors franchise is to win and to win now. Bringing in veteran leadership like Andrei will no doubt help us accomplish our goal. We were running thin and really had no true Small Forward other than Glenn, so bringing in Andrei was really a necessity. We had plenty of targets out there but after watching them all get snatched up, we immediately turned our full attention to him. He's either going to come off the bench for Klay or play alongside Klay if we decide to move Eric to the bench. That's undecided as of now. We'll see how training camp and preseason plays out."

Along with the signing of AK47 the Warriors also brought in another "enforcer" type of player in the form of Psycho T. The team used their LLE to sign Tyler Hansbrough to a 1-year deal worth $1,900,000. Word is he will play a backup role to Enes Kanter at Power Forward. We wouldn't be surprised if the team decided to start Lee & Chandler with Kanter & Tyler coming off the bench either. There are a lot of lineup options for this versatile squad and next season should be fun and interesting to watch. While many may speculate this roster isn't good enough to make the playoffs in a "deep and competitive" conference, we have the utmost confidence they will have no issues securing a playoff spot and possibly dethroning the Clippers as division champions. They are a Top 5 team in the West without question and it will be fun to see the surprised look of opposing teams in the near future.

I like Kirilenko's signing. Really like his def and I'd have turned my full attention to him had Williams not come.

Put him at SF and you have a nice defensive team. Your team looks like the NBA Warriors. Still, you lack a 2nd ball handler / creator... But nice move so far

Yep - MLE every year.

LLE - every Other year, assuming last GM didn't.

Not understanding scrutinizing the Marion deal for the Spurs then signing Kirilenko to 3yrs/ $15M.

Anyway I think AK is a good signing, still has elite DEF and an impact player imo.

Can't believe he was passed on by several teams who needed a SF despite his age, in fact he could start for several teams.

Warriors got better with this pickup easily.

Yeah, he could be a starter in many teams.
Seems like he's a great fit for the Warriors who have 2 of the best floor spacers in the league. He brings a game that complements Thompson's so well.. Still, with Thompson and Kiril, they lack a 2nd shot creator. They'll rely on Curry a lot to create for the others. Of course, they have 2 capable PGs off the bench, but I don't think any of them are stealing key minutes from the starters.

Put some pressure in Curry (who isn't the best athlete in the world to free himself from pressure D), make them give the ball to Thompson or Kirilenko to create something out of nothing, and they're pretty much done.

Still, nice team, very deep.. They can be West's surprise this season.

Not sure if I can quite agree with that.

I think the Warriors are one of the better teams in the West and Curry has shown to be one of the most lethal players in the CSL while Bledsoe combined with Chris Paul to make that Clippers an elite team and the faves every year in the West and I kinda see the Warriors trying to copy that roster, still had em as the best in the West before trading Barnes though but will have to see it play out with current guys.

Can't wait to see you two matchup, you seem quite confident in a gameplan already.
