"We are coming for everyone.  Nobody is safe."
Westbrook: Let the court decide 146246284_Heat_Thunder_G2_DS01001995_crop_north

The first full season that Lakers fans have experienced without their long time legend Kobe Bryant is in full swing.  Gone are the days where #24 sank game winning shot after game winning shot, and won title after title.  It's a new age in Los Angeles and it's being led by one hungry, fiery player with quite the chip on his shoulder.

Westbrook is averaging 25.5 points per game, 9.2 assists per game, 2.6 steals per game and he is playing lock down defense which can be solidified by his stop % of .976.  Westbrook's assist to turnover ratio is nearly 3.  He is playing at a very elite level while leading the Lakers to an 8-3 record, including wins against Oklahoma City, Portland and Utah.

When asked about his early season stellar play, Westbrook was very blunt; "We want to win the whole thing, and I will do whatever it takes.  Last season sucked, we were all hurt.  This year we are playing with a chip on our shoulder.  We are coming for everyone.  Nobody is safe."  When Westbrook was asked if he thought he was the best point guard in the league he added, "That's not for me to discuss.  My play on the court and numbers in the win column are all that matter to me.  I'll score 35 a game and there will be some pundit who thinks something crazy.  That's all for you guys to decide.  My play will speak for itself."

The Lakers finish up their 2 game home-stand tonight with a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers before they head out for a 5 game east coat road trip and a 3 game road trip against MIN, HOU and MEM, with a home game against the Charlotte Bobcats in between.

The Lakers and the CSL are glad to have you back and I look forward to the Smart/Westbrook battles for years to come.

That team looks dangerous. The Q is..
Are you going to let those guys compete as they seem to for real or are you trading Deng, Redick and the others to have a chance at, say, LBJ next season?
