Beasley/Karasev join the Blazers

Portland TrailBlazers are very excited to announce the acquisition of Michael Beasley and Sergey Karasev from the Chicago Bulls.
First of all, we would like to wish the best to Luis Scola and Wesley Johnson as they join Chicago and Dallas respectively. Their contributions to the team have been invaluable and will be missed.

We felt, however, that the team needs to head into a slightly different direction. Even if we had to sacrifice certain sacred values i.e. defense, we need to be able to spread the floor for our stars to operate. Damian Lillard is super-efficient (28.9 PER) and he needs space. Beasley and Karasev are both exceptional three-point shooters and will step in at SF/SG positions.

We currently have Kyle Korver and Ray Allen starting and producing some nice results. With Beasley and Karasev on the floor, Lillard will continue to have a free lane to the basket as you just can’t help with so much shooting up there.

Both are exceptional three point shooters and will have a role to play as the Blazers are redefining their strategy for this year and future.

I sort of wish I made a bigger play for Beasley. His long range shooting at the three would have been a welcomed addition to my roster.

Watch out, if everything goes as expected andrei could end up being my GM of the year.
