Splash Brothers...No More
BREAKING NEWS:

"Thought to be lifetime teammates...the Splash Brothers no longer exist in the CSL.
Splash Brothers...No More
We heard the rumors, we knew the team might be on the verge of something big..and this is as big as it gets. No longer will we see that elite sharpshooting duo we call the "Splash Brothers" play together again. Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry have been separated. The Warriors were taking phone calls for someone who could easily be deemed the best shooter in the league in Curry. A player who shoots 48% from 3pt range and 48% on his midrange jumpers is just unheard of. Not to mention he was playing alongside Klay who is shooting 50% from 3pt this season, leading the Warriors to be the league best from beyond the arc. Those days are over. The phones rang for weeks with teams inquiring about Curry but it was the last team to call that caught the attention of the team's front office. Curry could have ended up in a number of places, ranging from Milwaukee to Dallas to Chicago to even the division-rival Clippers. Instead, it's the Brooklyn Nets who will be getting the services of Stephen Curry along with David Lee.
A Brooklyn Blockbuster
While fans everywhere in California are heartbroken with the news, there is some reason to be excited. In exchange for Curry & Lee the Warriors are getting some high-quality talent in return. Rajon Rondo and Brook Lopez will be donning Golden State uniforms for the reason of the season. Yes, we all know, Rondo's shooting is horrendous, ugly, something most might run away from. However, he is a pretty wonderful defender and floor general. While he won't fill in Steph's shoes on the offensive end by any means, he will look to add just a bit more defense and ball distribution than we've seen previously.
While most might be disappointed Curry is leaving, the David Lee - Brook Lopez swap is something everyone in the organization should be excited about. Rondo is going to be running the offense, finding the open players, while Lopez commands double-teams in the paint, freeing up Klay Thompson on the wings. If ran properly, this offense has the potential to cause major headaches for opposing defenses. Then again, the poor shooting of the Rondo-Bledsoe backcourt could very well lead to a huge downward spiral. For now, the Splash Brothers will play two more games together, against the Clippers and Raptors. After that, we'll see how the new team plays out when Portland comes to town December 18th.

I wouldn't start Bledsoe TBH. I'd go with Rondo/Burke/Klay/LopezorKantner/LopezorKantner.
Have Bledsoe be a combo guard off the bench.
Either way, a brilliant trade.

Made a strong play for Curry, but now I understand why GSW went with the other offer. Nice haul for them.

Landing the pick along with the Lopez-Lee swap was what ultimately sold me. Otherwise this wouldn't have happened. I'm looking forward to see how Lopez does with shooters like Klay, Burke on the wing...should be fun.
Then next season hopefully that Brook-Tyson duo..hopefully.

Also want to give a special thanks to those other teams that were involved in Curry negotiations. I appreciate the patience and back and forth we had, I just wanted the best deal for Curry and felt this was head and shoulders above the rest. He could only go to one team unfortunately and I'm pleased with what we netted in return.
