Cleveland: The Starting Line Up
Hello fellow CSL GMs! My name is Rob Perry and I’m the new GM of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thank you for all your warm welcomes and I hope I can have a successful CSL career as the Cavs GM. Now lets get to the point. I specifically chose the Cavs because I think this team has a very bright future. This team has a few big contracts that might be hard to move but I believe the Cavs and I can work it out. Lets start with what our starting lineup will be.
This is man is our franchise player and our future. He is due for an extension which we will likely give him what he want but thats okay because he is worth it. He was an All Star Starter last season and was on the All-CSL Third team. The best part is…. HE IS ONLY 22! This will be his 4th season in the league putting up All Star stats and he hasn’t even hit his prime yet! He is pretty much untouchable right now unless the right deal comes along. Kyrie is one of the biggest reason I accepted the Cavs offer. Of course you can’t have a one man team so here is his backcourt partner..
Gordon is a nice fit next to Irving. He has 2 years left on his contract. We are not sure if he is the right fit for Kyrie just yet but he is averaging 24 4 4. Its hard to argue with those stats. One thing that is great for Gordon is that he is still very young at 25. He has many great years of basketball ahead. He is not considered untouchable but he won’t be traded for cheap. I like the pairing of these two young guards right now. This might be one of the better backcourts in the CSL.
Here is the glue guy of the team. Evan Turner signed a huge contract with the previous Cavs GM. Coming in as the new GM, I hope he lives up to his contract. He is the point-forward of the team. We want him to do what Iguodola does for any team he is on and that is to facilitate the offense and play good defense. Turner is averaging 8 pts 4 reb and 4 ast with only 1 TO. We don’t need Turner to score much due to the rest of the starting lineup. Turner is not considered untouchable. He is available for the right price. Now on to the rest of our frontcourt.
One of the best PF in the game. Just like Irving, Millsap made the All Star Team last year. With that award, Millsap got a huge contract. We hope that he lives up to his contract and continue to improve. It’s nice that we can put an all star big with the great backcourt we have. Millsap has a nice jumpshot. We can run pick and pop with him and Irving. Right now Millsap is on the bench due to an injured toe. We hope he can recover ASAP so he can come in and we can start winning some games. Tony Mitchell will be taking his spot in the lineup right now.
Now here is the last man in the starting lineup. One of the best stretch big man in the game right now. Like Gordon, he has 2 years left on his contract. We want him to bring up his FG% because 42% FG shooting is horrible for a big man. His 3pt% is great for a big man at 41%. For now he will be starting until we figure out our personnel. We are sure he will be a part of the Cavs future unless we get an offer that put us in a better spot than before.
This is all for now from me. I will write another article about our bench and what I plan for the Cavs future. And again Thanks for all the warm welcomes.. Looking forward to working with you guys!

Nice article, man!
Great to see another team finally seems to find an active GM that will take good care of them!
If I could say anything, I'd say do not start Anderson at C.. He's just too small and light and game will punish him because of that. But your team is young and has a bright future ahead of them.
Best of luck managing the Cavs!

Welcome! You have some solid assets, curious to see what direction you decide to go in. Goodluck.

Nice article, you have talent on that team for sure, the key is of course optimizing the players as both assets and fits.
The great thing is you definitely have the star player to build it around it's just finding the right players to compliment him.
Good luck man.

As Willy said…you have a star to build around. Now find the direction of your team and make the most of those two possible lottery picks you own this year!

Was one of the best teams, previous GM Ruined it, time to build it up again.

Re: Cleveland: The Starting Line Up
Kyrie has always been one of the higher usage players in the game yet his efficiency is not that great. Perhaps he has not been utilised correctly by the two previous GMs even though he played both PG and SG at different times. With Eric Gordon there also - there won't be shots for anybody. Perhaps a player like Reggie Evans fits better than Milsap to grab the boards and allow Irving and Gordon to shoot shoot shoot

yeah, and what is worse, only to leave soon after...
But let's focus on the present. Irving is still a Cavalier, and it's always nice to have a young star to build around. So best of lucks to you Rob!
Hopefully the Cavs got a nice GM for seasons to come!

Re: Cleveland: The Starting Line Up
You've got some pieces to play with in Cleveland. Continue to tweak that roster to your liking and try to get Irving to play a little more efficiently and you'll be back on track in no time.

Re: Cleveland: The Starting Line Up
Tough situation since a GM came in, made a couple bad moves and then dropped (exactly what we try to prevent) but it seems like you truly are committed to the Cavs, and hopefully they can get back to that level of contention.
Re: Cleveland: The Starting Line Up
6'10, 240 is fine for a C, but Anderson's perimeter game has me thinking you'd be better off starting Zeller at C and then using Anderson as your third big, getting starter level minutes at PF and C.

Re: Cleveland: The Starting Line Up
If only the other guy had kept Jordan and Waiters.. A Millsap - Jordan front court would be amazing and would fit really well together.
Anyway you have great pieces to trade for a C if you want to do so. Your team on the long run will be just fine.

Hmm, I don't like Turner and Anderson in this lineup. You need to move those guys for lower usage, defensive players and I think you may be in better shape.
