Myles (SAS) wrote:But 1) the engine is behind (again, this has been discussed in the discussion and help forum and has to be remedied) and 2) you have to use 2014-2015 salaries which means Detroit won't have cap space. Due to this we'll put out an updated file right now, but that trade won't work financially. If the Pistons add roughly 2M to their side of the deal the trade will work.
As just said I read all the Trade Rules and nothing was posted, I work with the file available so is not may fault ...
Now that the pick was made I think this will be really unfair for me
And I do not forget this clause

NEW GENERAL MANAGER EXCLUSION
• GM’s new to the league that were not informed on a certain rule that affects their team (trade restriction, hard cap, etc), may be entitled to an exception that bends a current rule. This is situation specific and only if they were not informed prior to accepting the position.
Didn't want to put this for you not to think I'm one of those who gets benefit from "Done the law, done the scam" but this is my last appeal till Dylan studies our deal
Re: Trade Chatter
I thought that was a rule designed to protect guys who walked into a bad situation because the previous GM made a dumb mistake that got them fired. Maybe not, I dunno.

Yeah definitely not that, especially since we don't fire people due to mistakes made as a GM.

My bad then. I just remember having a rule like that in RTG because when I had the Celtics, someone had made a terrible trade for Joe Johnson and that was reversed because it wasn't fair to me. Thought that was what this rile was supposed to do.

Re: Trade Chatter
The rule is meant to prevent new GMs from making terrible trades or from doing things that hurt their franchise.
The rule is not there to allow for circumvention of the salary cap.
Further, WAS, while I respect that you made this trade in good faith, it is also DET's responsibility to be mindful of the salary cap, etc. when making trades. Not just yours.

I think we both thought the trade was a good deal for the two teams. That's why we both accepted it.
But I will wait till Dylan's decision.
Re: Trade Chatter
It won't be approved. Detroit should know this rule anyway but admittedly it is a bit confusing when you look at salaries in the file and need to disregard the current year.

I should know this rule agreed and I'm not going to make any excuses since I have a league with DDS2, but didn't know if this was fixed in DDS3. If the trade needs to be re-worked then a little over 2 million is needed to make it done, which Ronnie Brewer brings to the table with a team option to expire the final year. Will talk to Q about the updated deal since the pick was already made of a player he didn't choose.

It's definitely weird the game has not ticked salaries over. It can definitely be confusing so nothing to blame here but the game.

The Boston Celtics and DennisJ are looking to be more active on the trade front than BlackIce and his Atlanta Hawks!

Salaries haven't rolled over because they aren't supposed to until after the draft, when contract decisions are made and you see the 2017 1sts show up on the team page.

No, they should roll over at June 20 unless the new game has changed the dates.

Salaries haven't rolled over because our game's dates are screwed up. When the season ended, we went from June 18th, 2014 to June 20th, 2013. During the end of season processing, all players aged 1 year, gained 1 year of experience, but because the dates are back in 2013, the contracts did not roll over, bird rights did not go up by 1 year, and there are currently no expiring players.

Have Boston smashed the record for number of trades in an off season?

Yeah Boston put in some work this offseason and may still not be finished!
I know I was all about Schröder Vucevic DeRozan core but must say I'm pretty eager to see the bigman Alex Len in a Celtics jersey...oh wait:
