Well I am happy
But I'd be careful with blasting dapralbe. He is a good GM and knows what he is doing...

I don't think it's that bad... Conley hasn't exactly been great this year.

Yeah, Miami wins the trade, but it's not nearly as lopsided as everyone is making it out to be. I'm sure Dap has a plan up his sleeve.

Re: Trade Chatter
Conley has 80+ PAS, DEF, STL, IQ, DIS plus he can hit the trey. Guess how many players check those boxes? Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, Mike Conley. That's it.
Conley is the perfect PG, especially in a league increasingly dominated by score-first PGs. That's part of why I traded Marshall - recognized that I was getting absolutely torched by the following (are you ready for the list?):
Westbrook
Rose
Lillard
Wall
Irving
Smart
Additionally, there are other guards who destroy you in more subtle ways:
Rubio
Rondo
Paul
Williams
Holiday
Thomas
Marshall (soon, Jestor, soon!)
Lawson
I'm positive I'm forgetting some as well. Point is, if you don't have a legit PG, your screwed. There are hardly any in the draft, ever, worth drafting. None of them can shoot any more, either.

Wow, Miami not only gets rid of Z-Bo, they get a better big for him in Jordan Hill. Z-Boobs is terrible and I don't understand that deal at all for Charlotte.

Re: Trade Chatter
I love Maynor as one of the best backup PGs, but I feel that first is a little too steep a price to pay for him, given I don't see Golden State being a title contending team any time soon - just a solid playoff squad, and one that could be in trouble with how tough the Pacific is.
Great moves by Myles in getting two first round picks to kickstart his rebuild. I see now why he declined my offer of two firsts plus expiring for Udoh, but it's all good because hopefully this will make the Spurs worse this year and improve the value of their pick (my ultimate end goal is to finish ahead of the Spurs).

Randolph is more consistent, better rebounder, better interior scorer, better scorer in general, higher IQ, better discipline.
Hill would be great if I needed a jump-shooting PF, and granted I'm losing some BLK, but I need a big who can bang down low and Jordon wasn't it. Not like I had bird rights on Hill or that Randolph is in my long term plans.

Don't disagree that Myles got good value here, but I tend to look at things from a time-value standpoint. Say, for example, that pick ends up being #15 (best case). Well, Maynor is obviously already a better player than anyone coming out of the draft at that position this year, by virtue of the fact that he is a developed veteran. Not only is the draft a crapshoot, but you'd have to wait 3-5 years before a rookie developed into something meaningful.
Now, we're also talking about a draft 3 draft classes from now. Then you have 3-5 years of development and a useful player 6-8 years from now. Meh.
Plus I hate protected picks (you know this Jestor, haha).
Finally, he's on a killer contract throughout his prime and sports a sterling A/TO ratio. He'll start for the Hornets.

Re: Trade Chatter
Hill = 57.4% shooting.
Z-Bo is offensive efficiency cancer (Seriously, 42.7%?) and that's not something you want from a guy taking almost 10 shots a game. He also shot 30.3%! for Golden State in the playoffs.
Great point - I'll track his FG% with the Hornets from here to the post season. I think I can get him up to around 47-48% FG%. Which is worlds better than what Varejao was accomplishing as my C.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it potentially became lottery TBH. Late lottery, but still - it's a division that has probably the single best group of GMs in the league, and the Suns and Kings are up and coming, and the Clippers and Lakers look good value to stay up, thanks to the Lakers' newfound cap flexibility this offseason due to their trading this season.
Like I said, I love Maynor too, but as a backup. DDS3 seems to prioritize passing over handling for its PGs (which is a switch from DDS 2), so that's why I see him as a backup rather than starter-worthy.

Oh, and great work by Minnesota in dumping Granger's contract without having to give up valuable assets to do so. Very well done.

Re: Trade Chatter
Lots of solid deals. No big winners or losers here.
On the topic of Zbo, I don't think he's that bad. His efficiency is just terrible for a big man, but still, he's a large expiring so there's no risk for Charlotte.
That said, we can now see how much Miami blew it by trading Tyson Chandler for Zbo.
Should be a pretty busy deadline this year.

Re: Trade Chatter
I know late 1st picks aren't that valuable.. But if you consider that Butler and Payne are 1st found talent, for the Cavs it's 6 1st picks for Mitchell and McCollum. Strike gold here, by far they are the ones that come out of that trade better.
I mean
Irving
Wade
Butler (much better fit for their starting 5)
Millsap
Kanter
Very nice bench (Chandler, Payne, etc)
Truckloads of first picks over the next 4 years (8 I think)
Great GMing Rob. Nicely done!

On top McCollum needs an extension this offseason..
BTW, who's sending the Dallas first Cleveland receives?
Edit says: just got fixed, its BKN
Tony Mitchell = NLL Love now?

Originally he was sending his '18 1st too but since he couldn't he offered Payne. I said to keep him since I didn't have pt for him, but there was another salary issue so I threw in Payne and got him McMullen to replace some of Currys minutes. I doubt he'll mind but he didn't agree to that exact variation since it's past midnight in his timezone but he has the option to decline. I have a feeling he's OK with it...
As for CLE winning the deal I'm not sure. Look at the value and projection of each pick and past drafts. The best one is Dallas and they are pushing for the playoffs this season leave alone next. It's good value though for sure tons of picks. Mitchell is out producing Millsap at age 22....
The Lakers had Cousins, Westbrook and could potentially end up writing two max players. There's no doubt they won and are the most dangerous tram in the West next year.
BKN got Beal and Barnes, two core wing players for the next decade.
In terms of value I think I did the worst but I end up with :
Lawson/Sessions
Curry/Afflalo
Evans/Mitchell
Patterson/Scola
Horford/Varejao
Let's see what happens.

True, but I am always willing to give up players to get a superstar back with a much higher ceiling than what I'm sending out.
I could care less about the picks, the drafts aren't impactful enough at the position I would pick to help me win NOW.

Well, in our defense there isn't an official sim time, so...we have nothing concrete to go off of, other than a date.
