The New Look Cavs
When GM Rob first came to the Cavs, many core players were already traded. Rob didn’t like the way the current roster was put. He did a massive overhaul of the Cavs. The only two players left from the roster he inherited was Kyrie Irving and Paul Millsap. Millsap hasn’t played a single game for Rob yet due to his broken toe but he should be back and ready to play against the Orlando Magic. Lets get on to all the trades that happened and how the Cavs are looking heading into the second part of the season. (sorry for it being long)
Golden State Warriors Trade
Enes Kanter
Jordan Adams
Wang Zhelin
Cleveland Cavaliers Trade
Tyler Zeller
Chris Wilcox
Caron Butler
2015 Dallas 1st
In this trade, We got our Bigman of the future for a lottery pick in what many GMs say is a weak draft class. Chris Wilcox and Caron Butler were not doing much for our team which made them expendable. It was hard seeing Zeller go because he was a solid piece for us. The Dallas pick was expendable because I have Sacs First this year. Sac record is worse than Dallas right now. Kanter was having a bad year with the Warriors after coming off that All Star season in Boston. Ever since Kanter joined the Cavs, he is averaging 12.5 points 9 rebounds on 57 percent shooting.
Cleveland SENDS:
Eric Gordon
Ryan Anderson
1st pick CLE 2015
Cleveland RECEIVES:
Dwayne Wade
We got a Hall of Fame Guard to pair with Kyrie. Wade is getting up there in age but he is still producing. He made the All Star team this year to prove it. We gave up 2 starters and our 1st this year but Wade is worth it. We are pushing for the playoffs anyways so we hope that pick doesn’t end up a lottery pick. We now have one of the best backcourts in the CSL. Wade is averaging 26.2 points 6.6 rebounds 3.8 assists and 1.6 blocks since coming to the Cavs. We admit he needs to cut down on turnovers but Kyrie ballhandling should help a bit.
SENDS
Evan Turner
Fuquan Edwin
2017 2nd Round Pick [CLE]
RECEIVES
Wilson Chandler
Ronnie Brewer
Evan Turner was great for us. He played point forward for us and we miss him but we needed depth. Edwin was a draft pick the previous GM made. Evan Turner was on a 4 year contract for about 7 mil a year. It wasn’t a bad contract but it was a little pricey. We got Wilson and Ronnie who are good role players. We needed players who didn’t the ball much in their hands. Chandler will be a nice scorer off the bench for us. Brewer will come off the bench now and play solid D for us. They both will be expiring contracts next year along with Wade. Their contract might be put together along with those picks I received in the other trade and be packaged for a good players.
SENDS:
Shannon Brown
RECEIVES:
Kwame Brown
Not a huge trade but we needed Big man help since Millsap was still injured and I didn’t want Mitchell playing the 5. Brown will get limited minutes unless there is an injury or foul trouble. Shannon Brown didn’t get much PT with us so we moved him into a different situation. He was on a 3 year contract while Kwame is on a 2 year which is nice for us financially.
SENDS:
C.J McCollum
Tony Mitchell
RECEIVES:
Jimmy Butler
Adreian Payne
3 first rounder
3 second rounders
This was a HUGE trade. I think this is the first 4 team trade in CSL history. Losing Tony Mitchell really stings. He was having a great season on a very cheap deal for 3 years. McCollum was having a bad time in Cleveland due to lack of PT. Not only do we get our starting SF of the future in Jimmy Butler and a project bigman on a very cheap deal, We get SIX Draft picks. I mean we can either use them to draft players on cheap contracts or use them in a trade to land bigger names. Jimmy Butler is a great defender. He doesn’t need touches to be effective which is why he is perfect for our starting lineup. Adreian Payne will be receiving backup minutes for us. We hope he develops fast for us with the minutes he will be receiving.
FA SIGNINGS:
Shaun Livingston- a quality backup PG who can handle the ball
Viacheslav Kravtsov- A solid big man who rebounds and play D
Sherman Norwood- a PG who we would like to develop due to his high defensive rating
Rob has created a nice team in Cleveland. He has a great starting 5 in Irving-Wade-Butler-Millsap-Kanter. His bench of Livingston,Brewer,Chandler,Payne,Brown is decent too. Now we have to start winning games. Five more days until Millsap comes back. We will then see what this team is capable of at full strength!

Good read . I am not a huge Kyrie fan or Kanter (find both to be somewhat inefficient) but you built a strong core that can compete for a playoff spot next year.

Love Kyrie, but I agree with Andrei - he needs to be used properly. I actually liked him as a SG when jinx ran him there. Kanter got PAAAIIIIDDDD - would probably have preferred another C for that team, but I have to admit....
Irving / Wade / Butler / Milsap / Kanter is an awesome five. I REALLY like your wing rotation - Butler is perfect for you.

Love every move you have made except the max to Kanter. That isn't a horrible move though so here's to a resurgence in CLE under your direction.
