Re: 2013-2014 NBA Champion Will Be...
Man, the Spurs play a not good-looking, but very efficient, fundamental basketball.
They have a system, and the best coach in the league, one of the best of all time (I really do not see any coach other than PJ who's better than Popovic). They have players that do what they want: shoot the corner 3, move the ball, play help D, give up jumpers, protect the rim and rush the 3pt line.
If the Heat had Popovic (or Thibs, who is the 2nd best in the league, and, while not being half as good as Pop at offense, on D is absolutely the best, using the same principles of Popovic's D), they'd win every single championship while LeBron, Wade and Bosh played together. But I really don't see they three-peating with Spolstra in control.
Actually, the Heat did not even deserve last year's title.
If Chicago gets eliminated by any team, I'll be rooting for the Spurs to win it all. Certainly a well deserved last title for the best PF in the history of NBA!

I think a lot of people are sleeping on the Heat just because of their regular season performance. They were just "coasting" throughout the season. The playoffs are here, this team is going to be completely different and surprise a lot of people with how well they play. Miami is about to kick it into full gear and go on a rampage. When they give 100% there's no one in the league that can beat them.

Didnt want to say golden State will win. Im just a warriors Fan in reallife and was pretty happy they won against LA last night. I know BG fouled out but GS hadnt bogut and iggy either.
Love that Barnes play. Block against CP3 on one end and the game winning three on the other end. This Roster is so deep, Young and Talented!
Oneal was Big! Though Stephen struggled with turnovers somehow Ive expected he will take more shots like dwill or Pierce did in the fourth against Toronto ..

Yeah. Pierce and KG did well in the 4th.
Though Ross and demar really struggled.

SAS VS MIA finals
Don't see anybody defeating MIA in the East. I was hoping its going to be Pacers season but does not look that way now. OKC is a threat to Spurs but I hope to see a rematch of last year's finals with Spurs winning this time in 6

Was disappointed seeing Toronto lose as I want them to win...but then I think that Brooklyn is probably the team that can beat Miami...

The officiating in the Portland/Houston game has been terrible. Not good at all.

Re: 2013-2014 NBA Champion Will Be...
I could go on ALL DAY about the Miami officiating earlier this afternoon. Every single 50/50 call went to Miami, and then there were phantom calls on Kidd-Gilchrist, no-calls on multiple push-offs by Wade... the list goes on and on. I'm not saying Charlotte should've won (because Miami always sprayed timely threes anytime they went down a few), but everyone got robbed of a game that should've been real close down the stretch.bestnamezRtaken (DAL) wrote:The officiating in the Portland/Houston game has been terrible. Houston/Portland was horribly officiated down the stretch. Didn't watch until OT began, but that final foul call where Freeland got FTs instead of Howard was LOL-worthy. Can't wait till we've trained robots to officiate games.

Yeah, as a Blazers fan, I thought it should have been Howard, but you've got to understand, that it happened to Portland 2-3 times where it shouldn't have been a foul or a foul on Houston before Howard fouled out. Lopez fouling out without touching Dwight, Aldridge fouling out after Beverly flops...Terrible.
We still got the win though.
As for Miami and Charlotte...I watched the game...I'd probably be more upset if I was a Bobcats fan, because I do agree with you on it.

Yeah I'm sure it did, like I said, I only watched once I found out that they were in OT. The refereeing was all over the place, even in the GS/LA game the other night. It's just been all-around terrible this playoffs.bestnamezRtaken (DAL) wrote:BizGilwalker (IND) wrote:I could go on ALL DAY about the Miami officiating earlier this afternoon. Loving my Blazers taking a 2-0 lead against the Rockets. Just need to win two more games at home now.

I'm pulling for the Blazers, such a joy to watch that team play. I've always liked Batum and Lillard is clutch as hell. I really want to see them sweep the Rockets.
Everytime I see LMA play I shed a tear...we took Bargs over him...
As for Toronto I hope we play Fields more, he did a decent job on Johnson and can cover Pierce a bit. Ross has to start hitting shots because right now he's a liability against the Nets big wing players. Hopefully we hit the boards hard again and punish them inside.

Could be worse though...You could have DRAFTED him and then traded him for Tyrus Thomas, hah hah.

Didn't the Knicks end up trading the rights to LMA and Noah for Eddy Curry? If so, they have us both beat.bestnamezRtaken (DAL) wrote:Could be worse though...You could have DRAFTED him and then traded him for Tyrus Thomas, hah hah.

I'm not sure...All I know is Chicago had the number 2 pick in the 06 draft, selected LaMarcus Aldridge, and traded him to Portland for Tyrus Thomas. I'm not sure how far back it goes.
Well, after a quick Wikipedia look, it does appear that New York traded the pick to Chicago for Curry. And yeah, it looks like the Knicks essentially traded Aldridge and Noah for Eddy Curry and Antonio Davis...ouch.

Pacers on tonight. Definitely pumped after seeing this team do a complete 180 after getting their shit together and gaining some momentum. That PG buzzer beater was huge. Time to take control of this series and move on to the Wiz.

Mistake after mistake after mistake.
Imagine the Bulls with Rose Noah and Aldridge. *-*
Still, never going to happen. Hope Melo opts to join us this season, if the FO is creative enough to land him while not giving Taj. I hope they can make it happen!

Not sure if I am looking at the trade machine correctly, but looks like even if CHI buy out Boozer and renounce all of their FAs, they still won't be able to offer anything close to the cash Carmelo expects...

Their only hope is to package boozer + expirings + some young assets as draft picks or Mirotic, for example.

The Nets/Raptors is the series I have watched the least and not by choice. That one is definitely going seven games.

I'm so torn between this series. I want Toronto to win but at the same time, I think Brooklyn is the only team that could take Miami and I don't want Miami to win at all. It's been entertaining to watch and will def go to 7 games in my opinion.
