You don't make the moves they're making if not.
I'm literally the only person who knows who's in the next few draft classes. I haven't told Dylan anything haha
How do you determine who's going to be in what draft class?

Multiple things. I need to stretch out the RL draft classes so I take the players who will make it to the NBA, players who are ranked highly but not high enough to make it to the NBA, and some extra foreign players who might not ever declare, and then randomly select who goes into which class (while maintaining a good balance). I also randomize the players a bit so for example, I might make a guy like Patric Young a potential lottery pick while some other players slide down further than where they are supposed to go.

I feel SAC sold Smoove a little cheap there, but he is a big risk big reward type of guy at this point I guess. Even as a PF his efficiency was very subpar, but that's a decent all-around game still IMO.
Like the CHA/NYK deal for both. Two decent role players swapped for one another.

Remember everyone who made a trade: articles are now required. If you do not write an article to accompany your trade, players will be suspended.

Is there a specific deadline when the article is due? Or how long do we have to write it? If I make a deal 30 mins before the sim when trades are inputted - does that mean I have 30 minutes to get an article up?

Re: Trade Chatter
Articles are not required for trades to go through, as the trade will go through regardless. The penalty is players being suspended if you do not write the article within a reasonable amount of time after the trade.
One clarification: if the only thing being exchanged in a trade is picks (current for future picks or whatever) no article is necessary.

Exactly why I wanted nothing to do with him. I hate guys that are so inefficient like that and on top of his inefficiency, he had a max contract. I got out of the contract by getting two expiring contract (added to the expirings I got in the Horford trade), it'll set me up to have a ton of cap space next off-season, and on top of all that I got a future first out of it.
I got everything I wanted out of the deal.
Re: Trade Chatter
Can't believe Josh Smith got the max in the first place, but its great that the Kings got out of the contract so quickly. Not a fan of Josh Smith for the Hawks, even if they got him on the cheap.

I personally wouldn't mind him... I'd give it a try at the very least.

Re: Trade Chatter
I went after Smith in last years free agency and would have played him at SF just like the Kings had him playing to start the year. His ratings should allow for that but he didnt play well there.

Good deal for ATL for sure. Low risk, high reward.

Re: Trade Chatter
Wow, I like the deal for both POR and CHA.
POR gets out of the Tyreke contract, as well as spreads his usage around (Lillard was FAR more efficient in every way imaginable), also letting Bradley, a defensive specialist, start. They also get back two really nice depth pieces in Scola and Williams, who should help bolster their bench.
CHA, on the other hand, gets a guy who can score and really put up big numbers and high usage (something CHA actually needs unlike most teams), much like how Kobe was really effective for them in the postseason. It's a low risk move since they have tons of cap space and really didn't give up much in value at all.
What does this mean for Kobe though?

Re: Trade Chatter
It's interesting - I was always planning on waiving Kobe's bird rights, really no need for them. Reke doesn't impact my desire to bring Kobe back, but there was always going to be the potential to lose him to an over pay, as I refuse to get caught up in that situation.
Plus, I realized I was relying too heavily on trade/free agent strategies that revolved around Kobe being good for 1-2 more years and I wanted to alter my way of thinking to be more long term oriented.

I like the deal for both Portland and Charlotte. I'm not even sure who I like it more for, to be honest. Tyreke is a great all around player but the depth Portland got in return for him is very very nice.

Re: Trade Chatter
I think Reke is going to thrive in CHA. I know people always talk about him being overpaid and all but he put up 25/6/6 the first few weeks for us so he can ball thats for sure.
Scola is a great veteran PF/C for us and Lou brings a 3 point shot which is what I need. Win-Win deal

Going to run all over your cute little combo guard.

Re: Trade Chatter
I like the moves Charlotte has made getting Asik and Reke this offseason though I feel the Mamba is gone now. I am curious to see if Reke shoots it good enough along with MKG and Marshall on top of Asik to score well against teams who'll zone em up bigtime now.
They do have the pieces if they bring Kobe back to play similar to an East version of the Rockets.
Like the versatility it gives Portland, gonna lean on those Smurf guards alot this season though losing Reke's height and size. Not sure how or if Scola fits in other than a hopeful asset considering Aldridge Henson at PF.

I like the deal a lot for Charlotte. Tyreke's contract is awful, but hes young and a good player so its not that big of a deal. Gives them a lot of flexibility for cheap.

On a side note, Smart will be the best SG in the league before long IMO...

He looks pretty much done developing in my engine outside of a few areas. I think he'd be hardpressed in unseating Harden, and in a couple years..... BEAL lol.

Really? For me he has a ton of scoring and defensive potential left. Even higher than Harden's.

I need to give it a good look to see where he ranks potentially among the current SGs in the league but I know he's got some growing to do.
