Pick 6 - Round 1 - Boston Celtics
With the 6. overall Pick the Boston Celtics select Jahii Carson from Arizona State.
At first, sorry for the delay. Couldnt be around the last 12 hours and didnt know when BI will officially announce his selection. So lets hope we are able to speed things up a bit compared to yesterday.
At first you believe Carson may not fit and Ive to admit you should be right. With 5'11'' he's just to small to play next to Schröder and everybody knows we love our german fellow-countryman. But after we received the results of his interview and his workouts we knew we would have to pick him at #6. He should be the BPA available and at this stage of the draft we believe you should walk with the best guy instead of what you need. No questions its possible the rights to Carson could be traded but the offers we got until now werent satisfying. I would call one of them even a rip off..
Carson should be really a Tony Parker type of player like OP already said in one of his mocks. Maybe slightly better, maybe not, really curious to see his final skillset. The workouts were promising, like already said, so we are hoping just the best. We also considered drafting Bazz who could fit nicely, but his red flag and some skills (dont know if Im allowed to say which ones) really scared us.

Interesting pick, not sure he's surefire BPA over Bazz, and this makes the whole Schroeder situation a bit sticky.
Still think Bazz would've made a better pick.

Just did rely on my scouts, workouts and interviews. Like said Bazz's red flag scared me..
No doubt, Bazz could end up being a great player, but Im pussy, haha. Lets see who got enough balls to pick him up.

Probably the best Point Guard taken thus far with his IQ, defense and well-rounded abilities since Harrison can't run the point at all. Good pick I guess, he was one of the few guys I scouted so can't say much but seems like Shabazz should have gone before him and possibly even before Randle & Harrison as well.

Bazz seems like an elite scorer. I said he seems Maggette/Redd - ish but he might have a higher ceiling.DennisJ (BOS) wrote:Added articleorangeparka (MIA) wrote:Interesting pick, not sure he's surefire BPA over Bazz, and this makes the whole Schroeder situation a bit sticky.

He reminds me of Adrian Dantley without the Barkley like post game. Great numbers, poor impact but it's really just a hunch/guess.

Interesting, I agree that Carson is the best point guard taken and projects to be higher IQ and a much much better shooter then Harrison. Carson is 40 pounds and 6 inches smaller then Harrison, they aren't really similar players though. For context, Harrison and Harden are the same size, Harden is 13 pounds heavier but they are comparable. Carson is 1 inch taller and 19 pounds lighter then Isaiah Thomas, he's 5'11, 165. I don't think he'll end up being a net positive on defense most nights but he can run a team and shoot the lights out so I understand where you're coming from.Higrade (GSW) wrote:Probably the best Point Guard taken thus far with his IQ, defense and well-rounded abilities since Harrison can't run the point at all. Harrison's not a PG, let's just get that outta the way. His skillset and size make him an SG first and foremost.

Interesting pick. I actually really like him and was looking to maybe find a way to get him on the Pistons.

This is the guy I really wanted from the get-go this season. I wish I could have managed to pry the #6 pick away from Boston, but Sacramento had a better offer and will enjoy Carson's scoring ability. Defensively he will get bullied but if I had him on the court with Marcus Smart, Anthony Davis and Al-Farouq Aminu, I think I could have lived with that.
Sacramento, if you are ever thinking of dealing Carson, give me a call!

Point Guard A, and frankly if his handling potential was higher, I would have drafted him at #3. Terrific looking shooter with tantalizing passing upside and solid defense. His size isn't going to be an issue at the 1, and I had him rated as the top overall point guard prospect in the class.

Actually considered trying to move up to get this guy. Dennis knows I threw out a less valuable offer than what he got. Will be watching to see what he does here in the CSL.
