Another first and PG to BOS?
Isn't there a rule where a team can only have four firsts in a draft at once or something like that?
Liked Appling, think he's an alright pick this late. Looks like the typical pass-first PG that can't do much else.

Trading for draft rights isn't the same thing as having firsts though.

Only trading for the rights to sign him, I believe thats allowed?
If not Im Sorry. But then already the SAC trade wouldnt have worked. Yeah actually just looking for who I believe is the BPA. Also planing to play micic most of the time at the offguard, so a PG was needed anyway.
Believe he's a decent backup.
Will be a trade around Haslem. Just figured out he has a PO. How does it work? Sure we have to wait for him to exercise his Option (pretty sure he will do). It should work due to the fact contract decision Phase = rights to rookies Phase if Im not wrong.

With the #29th pick the Boston Celtics select Keith Appling..
Again the selection seems to be disputable. Boston already owns Schröder and Micic and both are predicted to be great pass first point guards in the future. So why should the Celtics add another one?
Its pretty simple, Micic will be our shooting guard in the upcoming season, and if this experiment doesnt work it could be he will be moved for a wing. The plan was to draft Gary Harris at #13 but after New Orleans reach the other Spartan was gone.
Everybody in Boston is hoping Rizzos try to play Smart as point guard is going to fail, so there might be interest in a pass first guy like Micic. So lets see if a trade around Micic and Harris could be possible during the upcoming season.
Despite that we like what Keith is able to do. To get a roleplayer like him at #29 is huge. We like his ability to run the offense, his great handles and decent defense. Together with Dieng and Abrines he could be a key part of a really great second unit.

Decent player but I don't know how he will fit in with Boston's other guards.

Micic will play the two or will be used as a trade asset, so we need a backup PG anyway. A pass first PG looks good next to bazz and abrines. At least thats what I hope

Sorry guys for not picking. I know who I want obviously but just gotta confirm with Myles something about my pick.
He's the next pick at #31 anyway.

The four firsts relates to future drafts, it prevents teams from stockpiling picks. However, once a draft starts, there's no limit to the number of picks they get since it's rookie rights at that point.
