The San Antonio Spurs select DaJuan Coleman out of Syracuse.



"We were looking for someone who could bang down low, grab some boards, play defense, the usual stuff you look for in a big man," said GM Myles Nelson. "DaJuan's got good size and it looks like he learned well under Jim Boeheim. He showed some skills at the combine so hopefully he can come in and play here."

"Depth never hurts," said head coach Gregg Popovich. "You all know me, I try to give our guys rest and extend their seasons and careers, make sure they are effective for as long as possible. For that to be possible we have to have a deep team and I think DaJuan can step in and play."
