Wolves Sign Andray Blatche

With their third signing this offseason, the Wolves have announced that they signed center Andray Blatche. Officially, the contract is a 2 year minimum contract.

Andray last played for Dallas in the 2013-2014 season where he averaged 21 minutes per game. He put up 5.7 PPG, 5.3 RPG, .9 APG, .7 BPG, and .7 SPG. The one concern with Blatche is his efficiency. Last year, he shot 33% from the field and 30% from deep, while shooting 70% from the stripe. Whether that can be attributed to having no GM for most of the season is up in the air, but GM Jake certainly needs to work on keeping the ball out of his hands with so many other capable scorers on the roster.

Sources say Jake has had some doubts about whether their #25 pick in the most recent draft, DeShaun Thomas, is really a NBA caliber player. He is reportedly concerned about the lack of defense DeShaun brings to the table. Of course, training camp has not started yet, so there is much to be learned about the young man's game, but replacing a rookie with a 9 year veteran before a game has even been played surely isn't a good sign.

Most teams that rely on free agency usually fail to fill out their roster effectively and efficiently. That certainly isn't the case for Minnesota this offseason. Congrats on am amazing free agency period.
