Chandler Parsons has been the focus of discussions centered around the quality of and contract extensions for second round draft picks. One thing is for sure, Chandler has been the poster child for "underpaid" relative to the rest of the league since the beginning of his rookie season. No more.
After exhausting negotiations, Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce and Minnesota's Front Office were able to reach an agreement early this morning. Chandler, who will join Paul George, Kemba Walker, Ricky Rubio and Kyrie Irving as the beneficiary of a maximum contract extension, has most definitely earned it.
Chandler's extension will begin after this season. Starting at the maximum salary level for players with less than six years of CSL experience ($13,668,750), the contract contains maximum raises (7.5%) and totals $60,825,938 over four years.

I'm thrilled that I get to continue playing for the Wolves next to Kevin and Jeremy and I'm very thankful to the Wolves front office for giving me my first real contract!

I'm really happy to have Parsons locked in long term, though negotiations took a lot longer than expected. Chandler is too good to risk in free agency. He'll be our starting small forward for the foreseeable future.

That is a huge contract for Parsons..
But you had no other choice. If you're not trading him, than you have to extend him.

Gotta be honest, not really seeing the hype on this kid. Good all-around player, but nowhere near max-worthy IMO.

I will keep posting everywhere Im willing to offer Max contracts. Seems every FA is getting a max afterwards.
Btw next on my list Jeremy Lin, Marc Gasol, Iman Shumpert. Please all a max or FA.

It's kind of absurd that you're guaranteeing maxes to these players. You don't have enough cap space at this point to even offer 3 max contracts in free agency.
And given the fact that you keep saying you're done rebuilding and you're going to try to win now, who knows what will happen to your cap space. It's so far off that to tell the agency to not sign somebody because there's a pipedream for them to get a max contract (that they're not worth) is ridiculous.

I will have. All in is coming next offseason. This season is over for us. We will save our capspace for next offseason try to make a run with max offers at guys like Lin, Gasol, Shumpert & co. Afterwards we are able to trade our young guns as packages for upgrades if needed.
Btw wasnt saying they all would receive a max offer, but they are the next guys on my shortlist. Obviously I would need 40m cap to get them all..

Wow, that's huge. As if you wouldn't accept that as the PA. Although, my scouts are currently saying Parsons is really talented. Payment for future development.

Parsons seems like a beast, I think it's well worth it. Not saying I would have offered a max, but pretty close sure.

Hmm, seems like a lot and Parsons at 25 isn't a prospect anymore. That said he does a bit of everything and has no huge holes in his game. 9M per would have been fair but given the market I don't blame you for locking him up.
