Marion returns to the Spurs

Shawn Marion announced Wednesday night that he is headed back to the Spurs for another season. Marion agreed to a one year, $5 million with San Antonio

"This is the right place for me. This is my home now. We've got a great squad and this is the best and most loyal organization in the CSL. Why would I want to go anywhere else?" Marion said in the statement announcing his signing.

Marion averaged 9 points and 5 rebounds last season for the Spurs, and will continue to be a key player off the bench.

This is a great deal... unreal how he slid thru the cracks when people made a hooplah about Deng this guy is a very good role player and fits seamlessly into any roster/ starting lineup.

Great under the radar signing. Typical move by this Spurs franchise.

Stoked to have him back. We have a lot of talented players on our roster but I'm unsure about how most of them fit. Marion, I know exactly what he brings and I'm happy to have him back. He's getting up there in years, but he's still a contributor.

At 36 years old...I'll definitely pass. No way he fits in any starting lineup thats just a joke. Pretty hilarious the types of contracts old useless players Kobe & Dirk are getting paid.

Marion is a good signing for Myles, but never a player I was interested in.

Marion would complement your starting 5 really well Higrade, and for only one year, this contract won't hurt anyone long term . The Spurs don't have CAP to make any moves and they now have Duncan and Marion as big expiring contracts to make a splash next year.

And give mr Bryant and Dirk also some more respect. 8.3M for a 20PPG guy is a nice price. Kobe can contribute a lot, he actually plays defense also, and bring craftiness and high IQ.

Of course, that 4 year deal is a move I'd not make, no way. But I really appreciate Biz courage to take this risky step towards a shot for a ring.

I don't mind the Marion deal at all, especially for 1 year, strong move.

Just saying I don't put much value - if any...in guys that are that old like Kobe, Dirk
