CSL Tonite! Central Division Preview
Hi! I'm Mindy Mindy and welcome to CSL Tonite! Today we have Steve Smith, Dennis Scott, and Greg Anthony in studio and they're gonna discuss the Eastern Conference's Central Division and give you their thoughts on who they feel will win the Division crown!
Guys, take it away...
Let's get it started Mindy! Fellas without hesitation I'm taking the Detroit Pistons... that's right, DETROIT BASKETBALL! Here's a team that after acquiring a scorer in Carmelo Anthony before the deadline went on one of the hottest streaks in the entire CSL and played magnificently in the postseason even with an injured Andre Drummond who is possibly starting to come into his own. They came back to defeat the Cavaliers in the postseason and ultimately fell to the Bobcats now Hornets but with a healthy Drummond you may very well be looking at the CSL Eastern Conference Finalists guys. I'm sorry, the Cavs came back and beat the Pistons in that 1st round after Detroit was up 3-1, but still I'm goin' Detroit.
Hmmm... not a bad choice Smitty but you can't go against LeBron James who is now in Indiana and not to mention a Kobe Bryant AND a Dirk Nowitzki! And to top that off they've got a nice tough PG in Jarrett Jack and a veteran presence in the middle in both Brendan Haywood who'll play the enforcer and then Chris Kaman off the bench... man... these guys look like they could go all the way Smitty, I'm tellin' ya...
Well listen, when you speak of toughness and talent to go along with toughness guys in the Central Division, there's only one team that comes to my mind and that's the Chicago Bulls... They've added a Joe Johnson, a Tony Allen who's from Chicago, and then they also added Tiago Splitter in the deal that sent Monta Ellis to the Heat and this team guys not only have scoring but an interior presence with Splitter, Gibson, and Noah who played fantastic last season and oh... did I mention Derrick Rose? That team from top to bottom is the most complete team in the division.
Greg... you mean to tell me that Bulls team is better than that Pacers team with LeBron, Kobe, and Dirk?
It's not about being better, it's about chemistry and I think the Bulls parts fit together moreso than the Pacers who are gonna have some questions about roles and etc on that team.
I can't agree with that, you don't think Kobe at this stage in his career along with Dirk realize it's LeBron's team? They're mature enough to understand this by now you'd think at this point in time.
Again, it's not about realizing roles and what have you, it's about those guys being able to do the things necessary at their age to win and I'm not quite sure the Pacers, namely Kobe and Dirk can will their way to success, I mean listen, those guys are Hall of Famers and anything can happen in the Playoffs but when it comes down to getting stops in key situations I don't see the Pacers being able to beat the Bulls, or the Pistons for that matter.
It's gonna be tough guys but isn't it amazing to sit here and be able to name 3 different teams we feel can win the Central Division? Kudos to the GM's in that division for pulling some gutsy moves...
Don't forget about the Bucks...
If things fall their way they could be atop the division in a few more years but listen... I wasn't a fan of them losing a proven guy like a Marc Gasol for a young man like a Kyle Anderson who should be a special special player but let's not forget they also mortgaged some of their draft picks to secure getting him so it looks like they're fully vested in telling their fans to be patient once again and maybe the lottery gods will bless them with the #1 pick in 2015 and they can get a Joel Embiid to turn that team around but as it stands currently, the Bulls are the team to beat cause look Derrick Rose is still a young guy and is only improving...
So is Andre Drummond... I'm goin' DETRIOT BASKETBALL!... Dennis?
Don't count out LeBron James, I can't believe you guys are discounting the Pacers... I'm a stick with Indy.
Well that'll do it guys... and I'm going with Dennis... LeBron with Kobe and Dirk looks like the team to beat guys... just too much talent... and what about the Cavs? No Kyrie love? Anyway... for Steve Smith, Dennis Scott, and Greg Anthony... I'm Mindy Mindy... see you next time!

These are great. I too am taking Detroit to win that division, but I wouldn't be surprised if Indy did as well. I need to see who Dirk and Kobe are first this season.

This is a tough one. Indy is the obvious favorite for me but Detroit, Cleveland and Chicago are right there. Think Milwaukee are the only team that is not gonna win it (this season) otherwise its wide open. Really strong division. Top in the East?

Again, awesome.
I'm taking Pacers first, too much star power. Then I've got Detroit, then Bulls. Cavs 4th (no GM and didn't do anything in FA), with Bucks 5th.

Re: CSL Tonite! Central Division Preview
I think this division will come down to guard play, as the top 3 (IND/DET/CHI) are very strong up front. I'm a huge Brandon Knight fan but I think DET need another starting guard to really put themselves ahead and IND doesn't have much playmaking/ball handling in the backcourt but Lebron helps a ton in that regard. CHI is a dark horse and the other 2 are rebuilding.
Dope article as per usual.

Re: CSL Tonite! Central Division Preview
Its definitely a tough division, but Lebron can single-handedly lead the Pacers to the division crown. We need some help at the guard position still so we are expecting to make a move to help that out, but we like the other four guys we have a lot and hope that we can build on what we did last year.
If the Cavs had a GM they would be more dangerous, but without one, they aren't going to have much luck.

Yeah the Central is really strong.
Also after doing these vids I can honestly say the Eastern Conference is way stronger than it's alleged to be.
Glad y'all like the previews, definitely getting me pumped up for the season.

Re: CSL Tonite! Central Division Preview
The zoning Cavs were great last season, but I wouldn't bet for a GM-less team.
Detroit did great last year, so I would give them advantage for the division ahead of the Indiana Galaxy.. I mean Pacers
I'm intrigued about the Bulls anyway. They've got some nice pieces, and as BI mentined they're the strongest at PG with Derrick Rose. If you add that to the fact that any team that trades away Gay immediatelly (in RL of course) plays much better.. we've got a promising equation for the Bulls

If the East is loaded, imagine the West hahaha
But yeah, seems like more competitive than last year (even though I was not here before, the records shows a huge difference between confs.)

Don't listen to Greg Anthony, dude's a hater
CHI and DET are going to be tough, but we'll make it out of the East this year.
