LA Clippers Season Preview Empty LA Clippers Season Preview

Post by rh0xxy (MIN) Fri Apr 18, 2014 12:24 am

The Los Angeles Clippers has been relatively quiet the entire Off-Season though it doesn't mean they are surrendering another season this early. Despite being regarded as a Non-Playoff team by some, GM rh0xxy is confident they can compete at a high level still, yet surprise everyone with another regular season surge.

It may not be a successful Off-season for them in terms of improving roster but you can't count out a team led by Chris Paul. Not to mention he's still alongside Deron Williams and former All Star big Nene Hilario. The departure of Anderson Varejao was a huge lost for them but GM rh0xxy expect the team to survive without him.

Team Overview

Starters

POINT GUARD: CHRIS PAUL

This is still Chris Paul's team. He had a not so efficient performance last season but still a productive season nonetheless. Half a season may not be enough for him and Deron to get along with each other so having some time could proved to be lethal.Paul will be tasked to do the play making chores, thus giving everyone enough touches on the offensive end.

SHOOTING GUARD: DERON WILLIAMS

The Deron experiment continues. After getting little interest from the league, the Clippers have decided to keep Deron and give the duo another chance. Deron is expected to provide the scoring punch and be the number one option offensively.

SMALL FORWARD: CHRIS SINGLETON

This will be the third season for Chris as the starting SF of the team. He may not be as famous as the other but he is one of the most reliable role player of this team.

POWER FORWARD: JASON MAXIELL

FA pick up Jason Maxiell is about to be reborn in LA. He could well be the surprise player for this season. Jason is expected to help Nene in holding the fort inside. He is tasked to give some second chance options for the team.

CENTER: NENE HILARIO

Nene will return to his natural position and will regain his starting spot at Center. He will be tasked to be the back bone of the Clips inside defense while also providing offensive fire power in the paint.

BENCH:

James Johnson will be the first man off the bench. Johnson, could be revelation this season as he will be given ample playing time to prove his worth. He will be tasked to cover the SF/PF. Next in line are Joel Przybilla as the reliever of Nene, Tony Wroten as back up point guard, while Doron Lamb will sub-in for Deron at the SG spot. Andris Biedrins, Dominic McGuire, and Will Bynum will chip in spot minutes in their designed positions.

Still a great team that should compete for a playoff spot. Paul is the top defender in the league and Deron is very good player. Really like Nene at C and Maxiell is a reliable PF. I am not a big fan of Singleton but it seems he played well in your system the last couple of seasons.. looking forward to playing the migjty Clips soon
