The BlastOff!: Season Preview
DEFENDING THE WEST
Well the start of a new season always brings new thoughts, new ideas, and sometimes a new gameplan depending on the acquisition of new players vs the loss of players who were already on the roster then of course there's also the annual finances aspect most teams prepare for which directly affects what players remain and what players leave and unfortunately there will at times be casualties... We knew we were going to have a tough time with these decisions and Manu Ginobili who was a huge huge part of our success was ultimately a financial casualty... Well yes we certainly wanted to bring him back but just were not able to financially, even with the Front Office error made of us unknowingly at the time having our LLE available to offer, ultimately we would be out of the bidding for Manu so it really became a moot point and we are pleased to bring in Mario Chalmers who we feel can perform well and play off both James and Andre since he's a great spot up shooter and pesky defender as well... Andrea who also was a huge part of our success was moved as we always felt his expiring contract going into this season would be a huge asset and it paid dividends for us as we were able to move him to Milwaukee for Danilo Gallinari who played very well for us a couple of seasons ago and with our intended role for him off the bench we hope will give us a completely different look...We certainly feel we've taken steps to put us on the path to achieve our ultimate goal of winning a championship... I was genuinely surprised to win the GM of the Year Award as there were several other GM's who deserved the honor so I greatly appreciate garnering the respect of my peers and hopefully it'll continue to reflect in our team moving forward into the 2015 season... Alright thanks guys, look forward to an exciting year of competition!
Umm definitely looking forward to the start of a new season. We've got James and Andre together again and now we've brought in Danilo who's another versatile player at 6'10" who can spread the floor for us at the PF spot and also score, assist, and help get some rebounds for us as well since we're not a very big team in the paint but we'll run Andre at the PG position some so what we lack in the frontcourt in size, we'll make up for it in length in the backcourt at times, we can even go Andre, James, and Danilo at the PG, SG, and SF spot at times so we'll see how it all works out... We also brought in a vet like Zaza who'll help our youngster Bismack along but he's gonna play minutes for us and we feel he's a very capable player to make an impact on the game for us like we need him to... Well we're expecting big jumps from our younger guys as they'll be counted on to produce if we're planning on making a push to get back to the Finals cause there's been alot of improvement in the Western Conference and this thing could be wide open and that's the approach we're taking this season... to remain confident in our ability and to remain as competitive as possible but I don't have to tell the guys that on this team... they're starting to get it... Here's a complete rundown of our roster...
Our PG rotation of Mario Chalmers, Reggie Jackson, Steve Blake will be one where the pieces and skillsets fit with what we have on the floor. Rio is a great defender who can spotup and play off James and Andre and he doesn't necessarily dominate the ball while Reggie is more of a scoring defending type of big PG who'll fit in well with our second unit where he'll pressure other teams PG's defensively whereas Blake is our veteran PG who'll come in for spot duty as well as being ready to start should we have injuries occur at the PG spot. We'll look to take advantage of Andre Iguodala's playmaking ability at the PG spot in stints as well which'll allow us to go big.
Our SG rotation of James Harden and Terrence Ross is one of the more dynamic ones in the entire League as James is a proven scorer, one of the more dangerous scorers in the League who's really efficient so we wanna continue to take advantage of his all around abilities to put the ball in the hoop while Terrence is a kid who's coming into his own as not only a scorer but solid defender and rebounder on the wings as well and we expect him to be a major contributor to our success this season.
Our SF rotation of Andre Iguodala who is a great great fit with Harden due to his ability to create plays for James but also himself and the rest of the team is one of the more important parts of our offense and defense with Andre being such a ball hawk we're able to do alot of man to man defending throughout the game and we'll look to do more of it this season while Terrence will also play backup SF mins as well as Danilo.
Our PF rotation of Tristan Thompson, Danilo Gallinari, and Nick Collison allows us to give defenses different looks as Tristan is able to bang and defend the PF position very well as well as rebound as score effectively for us, Danilo is able to come in and stretch all the zoning defenses in this League, and Nick of course provides us with veteran leadership as well as another tough presence in the post area.
Lastly, our C rotation of Bismack Biyombo, Zaza Pachulia, and Ondrej Balvin allows us to matchup with many of the tougher post dominant teams in the League as Biyombo is one the League's premiere shotblockers and continues to learn the game while Zaza is a savvy vet who can come in and rebound and defend pretty well while Tristan will also get some minutes at C for us. We expect to send the rookie, Ondrej to the D-League to gain some valuable experience and playing time to help him develop so he can become a contributor for our squad very soon.

Get well Willy!
Deadline is extended anyway as it seems.
But everybody knows what will happen this year.. you will get your Ring. Harden just too strong.
