Lakers Cut Tyson Chandler's Season Short
Rival Lakers End Tyson Chandler's Season 16honk0
"Chandler suffers Achilles tear vs. Lakers, out 228 days."

BREAKING HEARTBREAKING NEWS:

Devastating news rattled the Warriors organization late Wednesday night. Tyson Chandler, 31 year old center, suffered a torn Achilles against the divisional-rival Lakers. After just 5 minutes of play, Tyson went to the locker room wincing in pain and did not return. Now, we know the big man will be out for the remainder of the season. Warriors' players and coaches all declined comment following the game.

Chandler was brought in from the Miami Heat in the offseason. Everyone throughout the team felt he would be the ultimate x-factor in lifting the squad to championship heights. He's a unique big man who provides everything you could ask for. When your starters shoot above 60% you can't ask for much more and now the Warriors will have to look elsewhere. While the Warriors beat the Lakers to take the division lead, this is as bittersweet as it gets.

Where will the team turn for help now ? That answer is relatively easy: Enes Kanter. Before Chandler came to town, Kanter was the full time starter but has since moved to a 6th man type of role. Now he will be asked to pick up the slack in a big way. Wednesday night he did just that. Once Tyson went down, Kanter jumped off the bench fired up and simply put on a show. In 35 minutes, he absolutely erupted for 35 points, 13 rebounds on 11/23 from the field while converting 14/22 free throws. He had some help too. Tyler "Psycho T" Hansbrough put a hurting on the Lakers weak frontcourt, going for 20 points and 18 rebounds in 36 minutes off the bench.

While the loss of Tyson will prove to be rather devastating, the team can fully expect Kanter & co. to step in at the best of their ability.

Wow. Harsh.
Sorry for your team bro. Anyway, Kanter is a great player and will do just fine.

Ouch...That's terrible news for the Warriors...It easily takes them out of Championship talks in my opinion. Sure, they'll still easily make the playoffs, but without their defensive anchor in Chandler, they drop out of the race for the gold.

If you can find a solid 3rd big (nothing special, a Pryzbilla type) I think this might be a blessing. Kanter was a beast last year (moreso in Boston) even with the implementation of the high post offense. If he flourishes again and David Lee has his per36 production from last year you could still make a deep playoff run.

Tough loss. Luckily you've got a very deep team, and a guy like Kanter to replace him, and that's a total luxury IMO.
You'll do fine with Enes, and as BI says you'll find a solid replacement as your backup center.

Looks like injuries (long time ones) are already starting... Let's all be safe!  Neutral

You'll mean 'single post', don't you?

This is no doubt going to hurt but yeah, given our depth we should be okay. Precisely one of the reasons I assembled this roster the way I did. Now we just really need to find a team willing to move a backup center.

Kanter is going to do just as well if not better than Tyson did and he showed flashes of it in the victories over Pacers, Lakers. This just really puts a damper on things because I was actually about to send Kanter packing in a bigger deal but now, that's not going to happen, I simply can't afford to lose him as well.

The thing about trading for a backup is I don't have many bargaining chips, if any at all. The main thing I could offer to get someone legitimate would be the 2016 Pistons 1st but as of now, that looks like a lotto pick to me but anything can change between now and then. Hopefully we can keep rolling along, our next 2 games are against the Kings & Suns.

Big loss there. Luckily you have some depth and should be able to put Kanter in at C with Lee at PF.

You've got a stable of big men you can ride out this season. Kanter is obviously a starter on just about every other team in the league and will give you as much production as Chandler if not more. The defense won't be as good but if any other team lost a player of Chandler's caliber they would be screwed.

Pau wasn't having any of Tyson's shenanigans, so he put him out for the year.
