CSL Statstuff: first edition of advanced stats
Let's have a quick look at who is at the top in the advanced statistics so far in our young season.
Note, I am missing some of the players on the list - deep bench players that did not play enough minutes or launched enough shots
PER
1. DeMarcus Cousing – 40.0
2. Andrew Bynum – 37.2
3. James Harden – 36.8
4. Lebron James – 33.7
5. Derrick Favors – 30.7
6. Kevin Durant – 30.0
7. Anthony Davis - 29.8
8. Dwight Howard – 29.6
9. Russell Westbrook – 28.9
10. Blake Griffin – 28.3
Cousins and Bynum playing great as the top two Cs in the game. Bynum flourishing in the Single Post system with super high PER
Notable absence is Kevin Love who was number 2 last season but struggling currently. Also, Durant dropped from the top to number 6
TS%
1. James Harden - 70.2%
2. Tyson Chandler - 67.4%
3. Blake Griffin - 66.7%
4. Trey Burke - 66.6%
5. Klay Thompson - 65.4%
6. Mike Dunleavy - 65.1%
7. Andrew Bynum - 63.8%
8. Damian Lillard - 63.6%
9. Stephen Curry - 63.5%
10. Anthony Davis - 63.5%
70 TS% is crazy, phenomenal season for Harden so far. Chandler has been super efficient this season and I personally felt it (twice) so a big loss for Warriors. They do have 3 more players on this list with Trey Burke, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry. Interestingly missing DMC and D-Howard here
eFG%
1. Amir Johnson - 69.6%
2. Mike Dunleavy - 64.3%
3. James Harden - 64.1%
4. Klay Thompson - 63.9%
5. Tyson Chandler - 63.8%
6. Anthony Davis - 61.7%
7. Trey Burke - 61.6%
8. Dwight Howard - 61.4%
9. Perry Ellis - 61.4%
10. Devin Harris - 61.1%
This one is very similar to TS% but Amir leading the way here with Harden at number 3. Pistons rookie Perry Ellis sneaked into top 10
USG%
1. Kyrie Irving - 36.9%
2. DeMarcus Cousing – 36.0%
3. James Harden - 34.9%
4. Dwyane Wade - 34.3%
5. Andrew Wiggins – 33.6%
6. Kevin Durant - 33.0%
7. Lebron James – 32.9%
8. Gordon Hayward – 32.7%
9. Andrew Bynum – 31.0%
10. John Wall – 30.6%
Kyrie led in USG last season but his PER is only 17.2 right now. Interesting, a few of these high usage players are not super-efficient currently – Wade at 14.0 PER, Hayward at 15.3 PER. Interesting, also to see Wiggins here at number 5.

The fact that Cousins and Harden are so high usage and still so efficient is insane. Wiggins trying to put Orlando on his back.

Proud to see Anthony Davis on these lists without using the single post this season.

Re: CSL Statstuff: first edition of advanced stats
very interesting these classifications and many people wonder how the season last gave defender of the year (real nba ) to gasol marc , among those who protested were they lebron james, but advanced statistics showed that marc gasol was the most efficient in the league eg plus or minus points for the on court, another interesting look at our league could be anything , advanced statistics although there are some teams that gm can not see.
I am among those who think that to make a good team all these things must be taken into account , andrei very interesting to see if you can put the advanced statistics of the teams I think that nine in favor and against, looking a little so to eye the utah 'm among the five worst teams in the league in assists , missed and points scored, but nevertheless I will first shooting percentage , fewest points against and at worst percentage of the team, less triples, unless caps , less assists than you make the team, let's clear a team destroyer and defensive profile

Great to see Harden on these lists, hadn't considered how truly effective he's been playing since I don't have the game, I base it solely off of his shooting %'s so thanks for posting andrei!
The fact that he's a perimeter player on lists typically reserved for the bigs and Kevin Durant, namely FG% makes me feel good about the strategy and players I have around him which I think makes a world of difference.
Bynum having such a crazy PER on a lower USG% is incredible.

Re: CSL Statstuff: first edition of advanced stats
Interesting, it seems the switch from double post to high post was a success. We haven't run any single post this season, Myles did some research a season back and although it helps raw numbers you are getting them at the expense of wins. Hopefully big Cuz keeps this up.
Bynum is having a crazy season and it's nice to see Favors, Davis, Westbrook and Griffin taking that next step as well. Harden is having another MVP level season as well.
The league is in good hands.

Re: CSL Statstuff: first edition of advanced stats
Also would like to note Harden is doing this in less minutes (33+) than most players which causes a conflict with me cause I'm not sure if I should increase his minutes or keep them low 30's...

Re: CSL Statstuff: first edition of advanced stats
Harden has clearly been the MVP so far, hands down.
As for Love, he's definitely in a slump, as you mentioned (for him at least, averaging a 16/11 isn't bad for most). He's getting 55 touches per game, behind only Lin, but his FG% is way down at 42% and 30% from 3, so I don't know what else I can do. I haven't given him any instructions and we're running the same offensive set as last year (standard), so I'm not sure what's causing the drop in production. Hopefully he bounces back.

The Wiggins Watch is on in Orlando. We have tried to surround him with decent passers at all the positions to get the ball in his hands.

Easy to expect Harden to do what he is doing when all he does is attack the paint. He barely takes a shot outside of the paint. Someone with his ability to finish is going to excel with preference work like WJ gave him.

Can't agree more with you. I'd love to see Harden taking some 3s also as he's very capable of knocking them down, but so far it has worked perfectly for Willy. He's completely out of this world right now, hope he comes back down to earth soon.

Those PERs have to be wrong don't they? They're insanely high and unrealistic.
What's even worse is Bynum has this super high PER and the Sixers are 3-7.

Nah, the PERs are right, even if they are unrealistic. The engine allows centers to dominate in post oriented offenses.
Same thing happened with my in Philly in the first season. Played single post, he destroyed every other center (save maybe Dwight), but we couldn't win... at all. Sacrifices a lot of production as a team for crazy stats for one player.

Sorry, meant I know they're right but the game engine is highly unrealistic.

LOOOL
after shooting 20-27 I'd say it'd be fine if he did not shoot 3pts at all. 53 points, amazing!
