The Eastern 8th place: very difficult for the Nets
It is hard to believe that in February seven of eight places to compete in playoffs are determined. For the last spot, five teams are fought : Nets, Cavs, Hornets, Bucks and 76ers. Here, a review of these teams :
Nets 22-28 (last 10 games record : 6-4)
Without changing anything (no trades, no changes in strategy or depth charts) in last month, the Nets don't get good results in this year. I think that attempts to improve matters often make them worse. 2016 will be the key year for the Nets.
Good : 3 point shooting
Bad : No capacity to intimidate
Cavs 21-30 (last 10 games record : 4-6)
The new GM RobIII has made substantial improvements in the configuration of Cavs' roster. Cavs starting lineup (Irving, wade, Turner, Millsap (when he returned) and Kanter) This I think should be sufficient for play offseason eliminatories.
Good : Starting lineup
Bad : Shooting range
Hornets 21-30 (last 10 games record : 4-6)
With the last trade with GSW, the Hornets think more in the last year, a team which only recently acquired 2015 DAL 1st round pick for Amare'
Good : Multi-role Small Forwards (MKG, Gay & Kirilenko)
Bad : Backcourt players
Bucks 21-33 (last 10 games record : 6-4)
Bucks have entered in this war, after good record in last games. Young team, they have good schedule for win positions in mid-March.
Good : Young team, 3 point %
Bad : Defense over superstars
76ers 19-33 (last 10 games record : 3-7)
Their last games have been bad but StOfTheStep will made great efforts to change this direction. Probably they lack better PG.
Good : Rebound capacity, Bynum
Bad : Passing and ball handling skills
Nets 22-28 (last 10 games record : 6-4)

Great read - thanks
I think the Nets have a good chance. You have the players to make it and you really know what you're doing so I see you in the playoffs. Good luck man

Who said the Atlantic was boring??
We're fighting for 'everything'!!
I mean, we've got:
-2 teams fighting for #1 pick in the draft with 7 wins each.
-2 teams fighting for the 8th seed in the East.
-1 team fighting for the 1st seed in the East.

It's going to be a race to win the 8th spot in the East, but you will have Detroit or NY waiting for you so good luck with that!

I still think that the Hornets will make it. It'll be a tough race though.

I think after trading Amare that isnt going to happen. Down to the Nets, Cavs, and the surprising Bucks.
