Round 2 - Pick 41 - Minnesota Timberwolves Empty Round 2 - Pick 41 - Minnesota Timberwolves

With the 41st pick in the 2014 CSL Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves select Lorenzo Brown from North Carolina State University.

Round 2 - Pick 41 - Minnesota Timberwolves 512x

To the Wolves, it seemed that Lorenzo Brown, with his terrific passing and scoring ability, should have been drafted in the mid 1st round. But Brown ended up falling, whether from lack of publicity or just pedestrian tournament showing, and landed right into the Wolves' lap. The Wolves took a long look at Lorenzo's workouts, and though they don't necessarily need another backup point guard with both Jeremy Lin and Gary Neal on their roster, it seems that he is simply the best player available left.

Brown also has incredible size for a point guard. At 6'5", he's not quite as big as his fellow draft entrant Leo Westermann, but still, at 6'5", he's easily bigger than most point guards, or even shooting guards, that other teams could throw at him. It's a rare yet valuable trait in a league where two point guard rosters are becoming more and more common. Size is a huge reason why players like Jason Kidd, Klay Thompson, and Rodney Stuckey can succeed, and hopefully Lorenzo Brown can follow in their footsteps.

Once again, Jake declined to comment on whether he actually plans to sign any of these players to the roster.

I took a look at him, but shooting %, DI, IQ, and handling all worried me.

This pretty much. He looks like he has good SCR and PAS, but bad shooting % and HDL, which are bad combinations IMO. Add to that extremely low DI and IQ, and it's easy to see why he fell.

I knew someone would take a flier on him though, who knows what'll happen.
