With the 43rd pick in the CSL draft, the Dallas Mavericks select...D.J. Cooper from Ohio.

Round 2 - Pick 43 - Dallas Mavericks KBNdUG0

To help with their scoring from the bench, the Dallas Mavericks have drafted little man, D.J. Cooper out of Ohio University. Cooper, along with Jahii Carson, are said to be the smallest players in the draft, both listed at 5'11". "Going into this draft, we didn't know much about the players as we didn't do any scouting at all. But for this pick, we looked around a bit and dug up some statistics on our guy and found out that during the Pre-Draft Tournament, Cooper averaged 16.5 points per game on 25-33 shooting...which is 75% from the field. So it quickly became an easy decision." General Manager Tanner Owen said.

After the pick of Mike Moser, who is more defensive minded, it appears the Mavericks wanted to add a bit of scoring to their bench, thus D.J. Cooper now being the newest member of the team. The team already has backup point guard George Hill though...so I wonder if that means we'll see the exit of either Tony Parker or Hill...Eh, probably not.

I was between Cooper and Brown for my last pick. Though Cooper had a great tournament showing, I went with Brown just because hes 6 inches taller and size is a really important attribute for a point guard, imo.

Nice pick though. Really like this guy.
