Boston Celtics second round
So here is another boring article, to use Jakes words. I hope its okay I use this thread for all my second round picks.
Having nearly no information about the second round - due to the fact we needed to use all our workouts and scoutings for our first round picks - we had nearly no information about what was left. Given that our decisions are based on the combine results and mock drafts posted during the season.
Pick #39, Ryan Kelly
Ryan seems to be a great shooter and should be a decent rebounder. Having no shooters at all Kelly seems to be a legit gamble. Having Young who will be our power forward of the the future and Kevin Garnett as his backup, Kelly has to fight for the third spot behind those two.
Anyway, its actually more likely we wont cut Thomas and keep him as our third power forward until the end of the season. Kellys' performance during summer league will determine if he ends up playing in the CSL for us or if he will be stashed overseas.
Pick #46, Michael Snaer
"Snaer has two marketable skills, his ability to defend at a high level and his passing ability, perhaps showing that he could be a secondary playmaker at the CSL level" a scout said during the season and looking at the the combine results, it seems Snaer could end up being a great defender and secondary playmaker.
Having Shabazz Muhammad locked in as small forward Snaer could be a great fit next to Bazz. The only problem is, that Snaer has no range. We need a 3pt shooter next to Schröder. So its pretty unlikely Snaer will see a lot minutes.
Pick #49, Seth Curry
Like said we had nearly no information about the guys still available at #49, but we scouted Seth one time during the season and he looked like a decent shooter. Having nearly no range on our team we believe its worth it to draft a guy able to hit some threes that late in the draft.
Maybe our decision was biased by the fact his brother is one of our real life favorite players, but we believe Seth could become a legit roleplayer. If he will be signed or stashed overseas isnt decided yet. Considering we would have to cut players to clear a rosterspace its pretty unlikely he will be signed this year.
