The Bulls have traded Rudy Gay along with Carlos Boozer and Metta World Peace to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for guards/forwards Tony Allen, Joe Johnson and Michael Beasley and two second round picks.

For the Nets, acquiring Gay&Boozer are a key component of their own rebuilding strategy under their new GM, Goikiri. This is the second major trade this season for the Nets – they acquired Erick Green, Tony Snell, Pat Mills and Adreian Payne from the Miami Heat for James McAdoo. Goikiri, has already made it clear that he isn't willing to take financial risks to turn Brooklyn into a winner.

Perfect to play high post offense. The mid distance is another place where Boozer makes difference from other teammates

Interesting to see that you would build an offense around Brook Lopez centered as the high post player, yet Rudy Gay is whom you consider to be your franchise player! Unless you're just trying to comfort Rudy's ego Wink

Personally thought the team was better with JJ and Allen but they definitely have a brighter future with both Gay and Boozer coming off the books at the end of the season.

Also liking the Boozer Lopez frontline, not too bad, would've liked to have seen what Payne could do as a starter though with Brook.

Good luck.

I remember Rudy Gay being one of the reason we nearly swept the Bulls last postseason. Yeah, he filled the boxscores with points, but pretty inefitiently overal.  I also remember it was Farmar guarding him (he was playing SG for the Bulls), and we switched back to Felton, yes Felton, for game two and Raymond made his job against the much taller Gay.

But more importantly, we were pretty pleased with Rudy taking all those shoots, instead of Boozer or Noah! Very Happy
So we're even more pleased with his announcement as Nets new 'franchise player'  Twisted Evil

Anxious for our first battle this season. Willing to 'check' your new guys Cool

Interesting trade... Obviously the fact that they're expirings makes this a good deal no matter how you look at it. If it doesn't work out, then you have more of a clean slate to start.

Good job.

I'm not a huge fan of Rudy Gay at all and thought Joe Johnson fit your high post offense really well but the whole expiring contract thing helps tremendously.
