Kings Crown Davis
Ed Davis in Sacramento to announce he will be a King for the forseeable future.
Restricted free agency can turn into a sticky situation. Fortunately for the Sacramento Kings and Ed Davis, that was not the case. With minimal adversity, the Kings were able to come to an agreement with the young big man to keep him in Sacramento. GM Dylan had said all along that they would match any deal that came his way but that will not be necessary. One rival Western Conference team came real close to getting Davis to sign an offer sheet but didn’t get the job done.
Davis and the Kings have agreed to a 5-year deal that will pay our client $12,000,000 per season. There are no annual raises and no team or player option attached to the deal. Look for Davis to anchor the front line in Sacramento for at least the next five years and become the face of the franchise!

Wow. All these RFAs are really getting paid. Obviously I don't know what the market was for Davis, but people called the Hawes deal a bad one, and the two are very similar.
Can't imagine who would've beat that among current teams.

Ouch. That's All-Star money. Don't think he deserves it..
Anyway, if the Kings didn't re-sign him, it'd have been a step back from what they're planning. Maybe in 2 years, with lots of CAP and up & coming youngsters, they're going to reach PO's and in 3 years start fighting for something bigger.

I predict a big season for Davis on low FG% because he'll face double and triple teams but I wouldn't be surprised if he lives up to the contract. Great defensive presence for sure.

Alot of pressure on that young man to perform without both Horford and Smith.
Gonna be interesting though to see how he does on his own.
Kudos to Hustle Inc, they are doing an extraordinary job of hustlin' to get their guys paid.

FTFY. We would've gone higher for IT and actually offered more per year even with our counter-offer, but we all know what happened there.
Davis we went in on, but the price got too steep for us, so we backed out and dropped out of FA altogether.

Thank you for the kind words, but it is the players themselves that are earning these big pay days, not us. We are just trying to place them in the best position possible to be successful.WillyJakkz (HOU) wrote:Kudos to Hustle Inc, they are doing an extraordinary job of hustlin' to get their guys paid.
