Celtics: what a waste of time...
Having no chance to get into the Playoffs the celtics decided to use the playoff-time the best they could and tried to get as much trades as possible done.
Rumours said Boston already finished a bunch of trades and only waited for the tradeoffice to open again. Yesterday GM Dennis confirmed those rumors.
With the season ending yesterday a few franchises decided to Fire their GMs. Most of the time the reason was those GMs wouldnt fullfil their Jobs with the commitment needed to be a CSL GM.
Now with all those Managers gone, the trades are gone too and Boston wasted a lot of time.
(No offense, just to honour baze)
* there are also guys I never negotiated with or talked to! If you arent named their it is no offense.

DennisJ wrote:yeah, uhm what to say..those dismissals came out of nowhere. We would have received pick 28 via trade with Memphis, pick 15 in a trade with Orlando and pick 6 and our next years pick in a three way deal with Toronto and Dallas

DennisJ wrote:not sayin' it was a bad decision by those franchises.. Just the Timing is weired.. We wasted so much time to get Deals done that wont happen now because guys like bt, baze or yuedar are gone..
It hurts man.. Espcially to see Captain bazemore go.. He was one of a few Managers that always answered to offers.. there are really only a few Managers doing it...
On top baze was one of the few guys you enjoyed talking to outside of negotiations. There are only a few guys to be named in this category.. Guys like Jamal,SS or Jeff.. So it really hurts to lose a guy like baze.

All this shows is that you were just trying to rip off dead beat GMs...
Just kidding, it has to be frustrating that you have deals made and they fall through because other GMs couldn't love up to their responsibilities in this league.

No WillyJakkz? Dang... Just kidding.
That's a shame man, although you may have wanted to keep the specifics to yourself as now the vultures may swarm to try to get those assets that you still may want since they have now been alerted to the availability of said assets.

What were the trades exactly? Just curious haha, since it's all in the past now.
Unfortunate that it happened, but it's all for the better at this point. Hopefully you can find other deals to your liking as well.

Def sucks to have a waste of time in trades. Negotiations are always good, but its tough. Some GMs are easeir to deal with than others and some don't respond to PMs.

It's hard when you put in all the time and effort into trades only to have them fall apart due to circumstances such as these.

I hear you on this Dennis, trust me. I've had quite a few trades in other leagues get nixed because the GM got fired. We definitely didn't intend for this to happen when we decided to take action, but felt that it was necessary to do it at the beginning of the off-season as it was the time that made the most sense.

Actually I remember it happening to me in the first season of this league. Had a trade just about to be agreed upon that would have netted me a high 2nd rounder for a player that didn't get off my bench and the guy got canned. Very frustrating.

Nice little write up, sucks that our three team trade got nixed but what's done is done.

I wondered how many deals this round of firings would affect. It's a shame, but it's a business, gotta move on and find an even better deal now.

I know I took my time during discussions with the powers that be and I can't guarantee anything but we can definitely continue our discussions at least.
