Redemption: Insight Did Em Dirty
That's right, what Insight did today was an atrocity of the highest order. We're talking about the best big man in the draft here, Joel Embiid, and Insight just dismisses him like he's just an average center. He "lacks the upside" and "will never be a force defensively" I mean are you kidding me? This is a guy who looks like he'll be one of the best two way big men of all time. Imagine Dwight Howard's defense combined with Andrew Bynum's offense, that's the kind of production we could get from Embiid at his peak. Obviously that's best case scenario, but that's what we are looking at here. This kid has all the upside in the world, for god's sake he just started playing basketball a few years ago, of course he still has upside. Is he a great post player right now? No, but he's learning. Does he have all the defensive fundamentals down? No but he shows a great knack for learning them and great defensive instincts. This kid is the best center in the draft, period. He might be the best player in the draft. No way is he the 3rd best center, or the 8th best player overall, or even a player who "lacks upside". He's a monster.
Moving on, they rank Luka Mitrovic as the 7th best power forward and say that he's in danger of becoming a journeyman. I wonder if anyone at that media outlet has even watched any of his tapes. I have people over in Europe going to these games, coming back and telling me what they know, and they know that Mitrovic has all the skills to be a great scorer. He's out there balling out, not just hitting jumpers, but also attacking the basket, posting up, going to work. And that's not all he can do. He finishes through contact, he can handle the rock, he's improving as a rebounder. He's a great teammate and his coaches have never said a bad word about him. Hell, he's not even that bad of a defender. He reminds me a lot of like a Carlos Boozer with more range offensively. Fantastic young player.
Insight man... y'all need to work on your evaluation skills. Those weren't your only mistakes but I only got so much time to talk before Skip Bayless gets mad, so I'm done with y'all. Ain't nothing more to say to you guys. Let's move on, and talk about why the New York Knicks are still the greatest franchise in sports. Go ahead Skip, try to refute me...

I really like Embiid and think he is going to be a really good player. Prehaps Howard/Bynum discussions are somewhat premature. Can't wait to see some of his scouting info
