Why for Charlotte?

This is an interesting trade for us.  We are normally very adverse to large contracts and to paying players more than they are worth.  Tyreke is undoubtedly both.  However, Portland is looking to hand the reigns over to their young stud PG and needed to make that commitment - as a result, Tyreke's days were numbered.  This practically amounts to a salary dump, but we are quite pleased with the player we are getting back in this trade.  Tyreke is only 23 and is one of the most complete players in the CSL.  He's 6-6 and 219 making him an ideal fit at SG, but his relatively high PAS/HDL ratings will allow him to play legit minutes at PG, if that's where I want him.

Tyreke is a phenomenal player but he needs the ball in his hands to make a real impact on the game. We want Lillard and LMA to dominate on offense. This also allows Bradley and Harris to establish themselves as full-time, heavy minute starters at SG/SF. Finally, I am getting a quality big in Scola and excellent backup PG/SG in Williams. Lou is also a top notch 3 point shooter which is what we desperately need. Not even mentioning the CAP flexibility aimed at eventually locking Lillard/Henson/Leonard etc to long term deals
