Re: Trade Chatter
Nice moves by the Knicks.
Sweet Lou can come off the bench as the primary scorer/ their 6th Man and Lamb can be the young SG to groom next to Rubio for the future.
Portland is going 3pt crazy adding Novak to their crew of Ray Allen and Kyle Korver though I'm not sure how much time he'll get.
Grizz take a chance on the Knicks and Rubio's short term success so far this season and probably are hoping that pick turns out better than where it's slotted to be.

Like the move to go and get Williams since he can be a useful player for them.
Not sold on Lamb although he does have very good handles for a SG. I'm sure Jamal will get the most out of him though.

Re: Trade Chatter
I've always liked Lamb - potential to be a hyper efficient player, but just doesn't look for his shot enough and has poor defensive instincts.
Still, knowing the style of ball that Jamal runs, Lamb's SCR rating doesn't matter and, in fact, benefits Rubio. William's acquisition was a nice move to counterbalance the loss of the 3pt shot you experience with Lamb.

Re: Trade Chatter
I don't like Lamb at all. But he'll thrive under Jamal's system, just like Chase Budinger.
As for Williams, I think it's more of Williams being an expiring player than how he can help the team. It's more of a Novak's salary dump move. And a nice one though.
Maybe POR wants to put a lineup of Lillard, Allen, Korver, Novak and LMA. Would be huge offensively, they'd score at will, but defensively they'd be challenged a lot. Still, would be amazing to see that kind of lineup.

Really not sure why Portland needs another outside shooter. Not a fan of Novak.

I feel the same way. With Allen and Korver already in Portland, Novak is not needed.

I'm really really confused by the Memphis - Knicks trade....New York gives up a 1st for Jeremy Lamb, who has no room to grow and basically...sucks ? Really makes no sense to me...Farmar is better than Lamb, and they added a 1st ?

Re: Trade Chatter
Well-played by Toronto. They not only get the best big man in the deal, they got a lottery pick to boot.
That's a pretty big overpay by Oklahoma City in terms of the amount of upgrade they got, but at least it's somewhat defensible.
Cleveland not only has a worse big man now, they took on an even worse contract and gave up the currently better of the two lottery picks. That deal made zero sense for them.

Re: Trade Chatter
Calling Gortat better than Millsap / Al is a really huge reach.
Both were All-Stars last year, and defend better than Gortat. Millsap just need an opportunity to start to prove he's better than Gortat. Way better in my opinion.

Re: Trade Chatter
Ok at first I didn't understand it for Cleveland but now I get it, he's gonna play small ball with Millsap at C and Ryno at the PF spot, pretty nice strategy honestly even though it's risky cause that team was on a roll but still pretty sweet. Gonna be even more difficult to guard that team imo.
OKC has officially collected the most high caliber players I've ever seen in a Sim League, loads and loads of talent to try to figure out how to fully utilize them.
Raptors got a shitload of picks for the rebuild as they concede their pick but more than make up for it with the ton of picks they just got.
Ahhsome

Re: Trade Chatter
All-Star doesn't mean anything, considering it's largely counting stats-based, and that's easy enough to manipulate.
Jefferson's the best defender of the three, but Gortat is the most consistent and accurate shooter.
Gortat is a better defender than Millsap because he can block shots a lot better than Millsap can. I'll still argue Gortat is the best overall of these three guys, and he's a lot cheaper, too.

Re: Trade Chatter
I must say...Raptors are the clear runaway winners in this trade. Not only do they dump Jefferson (the worst NET player on the team) and his contract, but they add Gortat, who I think is the best player in the trade. Not to mention the 1sts. Fantastic work IMO.

SAP was an allstar because I manipulated his stats with Single post etc.
All Stars are nominated because of their stats. So it isnt really a quality sign if you are an allstar.
Best example is Kanter. Look at his stats he put up for us last year.
*edit says Tim just explained already, my fault.

Re: Trade Chatter
Toronto made out like bandits in this deal. Jefferson was not worth what was given up for him and the deal doesn't make much sense for the Cavs, but maybe I will be proven wrong.

Fantastic trade for Toronto. They are definitely the winner of that trade. Hope all parties involved get exactly what they wanted out of the deal and makes it work.

Re: Trade Chatter
good trade for Toronto. like Gortat a lot plus all them picks. Jefferson may work in OKC but is on a gigantic deal for a backup. not a big fan of Milsap but hey be well suited for a small ball lineup along with Anderson

Re: Trade Chatter
Love the trade for the Raptors, great job getting all these picks.
Not sure about the Cavs. Milsap is a nice player and will be a good pair with Kyrie but he should've kept Jordan and Waiters.
Thunder got the best player in the deal, but not sure if Jefferson is a good fit with Dwight/Josh Smith

I like the trade for raptors lose jefferson but gortat have a similar eficiency if you put the correct tactic and they get a lot picks and continue rebuildind franquise. Good piece for oklahoma but marcos have a lot of stars. They will have the chemistry necesary? I don't know.

Intriguing move by the Warriors.
Bledsoe is not much of a shooter, they're now relying solely on Klay to knock down 3s.
And Lee was playing so well, just as great as Curry.

Re: Trade Chatter
Lee isn't an expiring contract, so that part doesn't make sense for the Nets, as that was part of their reasoning.
Love this trade for Golden State. Frees up more minutes for Burke, who can be turned into the 3 point gunner Curry was, and now they can go with Rondo/Burke/Bledsoe in a 3 guard rotation. Plus, they got Lopez, who is a fantastic player and 26 to Lee's 31.
Curry is amazing, but paying a first on top of it was way too much for the Nets IMO, given that Rondo and Curry are both under 30. It would have been a far more fair deal if it was just Curry/Lee for Lopez/Rondo, or if Lee was an expiring to give the Nets three large expirings and room to be FA players. Now they won't be, and Lopez is tons better than Lee.

You're right Jestor. But I am in good situation for next FA period. Now, I will prove different set offense but i think the high post isn't bad set for Lee.

You'll have about $14 million roughly in FA. Decent amount, but a lot less than teams like Boston and Phoenix for example.

Would have been a very fair trade without the 1st involved, so good move by the Warriors by getting that out of the deal.

PHO giving up on their pick and a chance at Embiid / Exum to pick up two average players and a late 1st? Really? Really?
