Time For Change
The 2013-2014 season came to an end just as the last season: the Miami Heat were crowned champs. Unfortunately for some, their career as a CSL general manager ended with the season as well. With administration being vigilant on questionable activity around the league, some managers have been purged from the league due to not living up to the high standards of this great league.
Tough to blame the Powers That Be when they put immense time and effort into the league. All they are asking for in return are commitment and activity.
The commitment comes to the team that a GM chooses to turn into a winner. You can’t commit to a team and then abandon it when things just aren’t going the way you had hoped. If anything, that is when you should be most committed. It is easiest to give up when the going gets tough and we have seen our fair share of that around here.
The activity should be dedicated to the league. General managers are asked to be active in the sim threads as well as writing appropriate league articles throughout the season. It’s not just a requirement for being in the league but actually would behoove managers when it comes to scouting to write quality articles more frequently. Obviously time restraints are different for every manager in the league, but it takes just a few minutes every couple weeks to write the minimum requirement of Insider or Wiretap articles.
It’s not all bad though, so fear not! Changes aren't always a bad thing. The league has found a new home here at Forumotion and looks to add some new features to our message boards. Of course it will take some getting used to but in time we’ll look back at the old forum and think how did we ever last that long there?
New blood will be introduced to the league throughout the next few days or weeks. The unknown is never a sure bet, but when there’s a chance to add a new manager to the league that could be a top-notch contributor, that’s got to be seen as a positive addition. At times, people like OrangeParka and Sun Scorched were no-names (at least to me). Now, they are looked at and respected in high regards in this league. What’s stopping everyone from being the same?
Speaking of change, we already have a change of teams for one manager. As the Washington Post has already printed, Cyrisnyte is out as the GM of the Washington Wizards and will now be captaining the ship of the Orlando Magic! I assume this won’t be the only move made as open teams have become available and some GMs look to right the wrongs done by previous ownership.
I know a lot has happened in the past 12-24 hours, but I truly believe that this is a day that will propel the Champion Sim League to new heights! Out with the old, in with the new and onward with the world-class league we have here!

Hmm, good to see some changing of teams as its definitely needed for some of those bottom dwellers. At least Orlando has some decent young talent and the top pick.

Re: Time For Change
Way, way back in the original league some of you will remember I had the Orlando Magic. I made a couple of moves and ended up bringing in Bradly Beal and Jonas Valanciunas.
This gives me the shot at rebuilding again. Washington has a very attractive roster in my opinion with Wall and Griffin. I just wanted to take over the Magic again and see if I could get them headed the right way.
Not to mention Washington canned me!

This was a really nice writeup. Thanks for doing this. Hopefully it will give a lot of GM's who are a bit unsure of all the change some perspective.
Re: Time For Change
Awesome write up Rizzo. This is the exact attitude that will take the league over the top again.

So we need to find more rizzos .
Asked some Friends nobody interested. Most said they couldnt meet the activity Standards required.

Thanks guys. I know there were some differing views on what happened and the changes that were made and I tried to bring to the light the positives rather than dwell on negatives. Decisions have been made and it's time to move on and focus on bettering the CSL. Thanks for all you guys do, it really is appreciated.

I would ask the two other Rizzos, but they don't do sim sports nor would they have the time needed to write articles or any of that stuff. I have other friends that would be interested in the managing aspect but not the writing. The search continues.
<----- I just had to use it...

Great stuff! I hope the switch breathes new life into us all, myself included, and attracts some new committed GM's to the league.

Re: Time For Change
just a little late for this response message, but if the changes are good sometimes, especially in this case, I had never seen so much activity in a forum with a lot of hard work from some of its components, doing great job describing rookies, defining positions and a lot of articles on different topics, I think more than a game, this is a community where you can enjoy and share the aficcion of all components for basketball, I'm here again led for three days, and my English is pretty weak, so I need help understanding it all, but this new project and its components I think there can be sustained over time, and perform many seasons with great things to enjoy ..
