Under the cap - can use cap space to absorb higher salary.
Under the tax - 1.50x incoming salaries
Over the tax - 1.25x incoming salaries
So I think IND should be able to absorb 1.5x the salary going out.
I just quoted Trade Rules, so I do not know where do you take that from...
Re: Dream Team? Kobe joins LeBron in Indiana
Well, the Commissioners could say anything, not only about those Pacers moves for Kobe and Dirk, but for the other trades pending (OKC x IND & DEN x ATL)..
It would help a lot planning the teams and so, and would solve that little problem we have here, of course.

On the old boards, we agreed to implement the 1.5x rule for non-tax teams like in the real NBA, IIRC.
So if that has been put in place yet, the trade should stand.

We're going nowhere speculating things here...
Now that the possible problem has been found, let's see what Myles / Dylan have to say.

1.5 is fine. Already a few trades used that rule. So the trade is fine.

Let me recalculate this really fast for you guys. I triple checked it to make sure it all worked, so there should not be any problems.

Re: Dream Team? Kobe joins LeBron in Indiana
According to Myles' spreadsheet- updated after the Stephenson signing and before the OKC deal, I've got 57,161,400 on the books, all inclusive. (3,819,105 cap space)
I then lose 456,605 in cap space with the OKC deal (3,362,500 cap space), then gain 4,957,492 cap space with the Charlotte deal, so I SHOULD have had 8,319,992 in cap space rather than the 8.77M figure. One of the trades can be modified slightly by giving up one of the 2nd rounders I traded for in the Charlotte or OKC deal, or Kobe's contract can be slightly restructured but that's an easy fix. I can offer him the same amount of money, but just using raises.
I overlooked the fact that Myle's spreadsheet did not reflect the OKC deal, and the spreadsheet was correct for not reflecting it. This is an oversight on my part. To one of the mods/commissioners- should I work with Ballers inc to restructure Kobe's contract, or can I just edit one of the deals and give up one of TJ Warren, BJ Young to Charlotte, Mouhammadou Jaiteh to OKC, or Aaron Craft to OKC?

This squad is not looking pretty IMO.
Kobe and Dirk around Lebron ? Not the best additions and both of the old men will be major defensive liabilities. But who knows maybe it will work...those contracts are definitely ugly though, I'd hate to be stuck with long term deals on such old players.

Indian and I restructured the contract. It will start at $8,319,992 and 3.8% raises were added, making the total around $35.2 million, 100k more than the original contract.

Official numbers are 8,319,992 / 8,642,792 / 8,965,592 / 9,288,392. 3.88% raises for a total salary of 35,216,768. Final year is a player option.
