Dallas Adds Mayo/Hinrich/West
Dallas, TX
The Dallas Mavericks, finally were able to nab up OJ Mayo from Milwaukee in exchange for Alex Poythress and Gerald Green. "It was a fairly quick deal after finding out that the three team trade fell through. We picked it back up, unfortunately, Kenneth Faried was off the market." GM Tanner Owen said. Then came free agency...Dallas was targeting a veteran power forward or center.
David West has officially signed with the Dallas Mavericks.
"We were targeting Dirk Nowitzki, Marcin Gortat, and a couple of other players to try to lure them into Dallas. It didn't work out. We were actually able to grab up Kirk Hinrich for an LLE deal to use as a back up shooting guard for DeMar DeRozan.....I'm sorry, how are we not talking about the moves the Pacers have made in the last two days? No seriously...They traded for LeBron James, whom many thought was taking a HUGE risk...then they signed Kobe Bryant and then traded for Dirk Nowitzki via sign and trade...A core team of Jarrett Jack, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, and Brenden Haywood...isn't bad at all. Definitely a high risk high reward sort of team." Owen said during the interview.
Odd for him to go off topic there...but really, it's hard to not talk about the biggest story line of the off season. While both teams in OKC (trading LeBron) got better and Denver making out like bandits for an aging Dirk...still though, Indiana looks pretty good on paper. They've got some spots they need to fill on their bench. If they're able to add in some three point shooters and solid defenders, they'll be okay. We here at the Dallas AP, feel Indiana has become one of the bigger threats out East. You have LeBron and throw in some people around him, you're good to go. But to throw in Kobe and Dirk to play along him? You're doing great.
We'll make a bold prediction here, and say that Indiana will be a top 3 seed in the East, even perhaps taking out Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals...Maybe.

I think you need to start Mayo, simply for his 3pt shot. Teams will zone you to death and the only 3pt shooter in your starting unit is Matthews (I think). Plus DeRozan can be your volume scorer off the bench.

LOL, I like how 90% of your article was about my team.
Still you've made some nice moves as well.

I like the team you've been able to assemble so quickly in Big D, nice work.

Yeah, I'll certainly toy with my lineup a bit, Mayo will be starting in place of DD at the beginning of the season due to DeRozan's injury, so we'll see how that goes.

Hah, yeah. I thought that it might be a nice touch to it...seeing as you made some huge moves and in my opinion, are one of the new favorites out East.

Thanks man, appreciate it. I'm hoping that I can make another move or two in order to really put this team where I want it to be.

Will be hard for you to compete the playoffs, but I like the team you build out of nowhere.
Yet still your team looks to good to suck and to bad to be a playoff team. I hate to be mediocrity.
However you should be able to annoy some contenders, especially at home
