Time To Shine
With the long awaited trade between Cleveland and New Orleans finally processed, there is a gaping hole at the shooting guard position. Eric Gordon, while still coming off of the bench, was averaging 28 minutes per game at the off guard position while pouring in 20 points a night. With him gone, where will the minutes go and the production come from?
Marcus Smart will continue to start at point guard for the time being. He’ll be splitting his time between the one and the two, allowing Greivis Vasquez to see an uptick in minutes. He’s a steady-handed veteran that should step in and produce right away (see: Warriors @ Pelicans). But there’s still a void that needs to be filled.
Gary Harris, the starter by name only for ten of the Pelicans’ 11 games this season, will be asked to play many more minutes than he has seen so far this year. While averaging 11.7 minutes in the first handful of contests, that number could easily double as the Pelicans wait for Dion Waiters’ knee injury to heal up. Harris has posted respectable defensive numbers but has struggled to find his shot. He’s a young player and Doc Rivers has the utmost confidence in the kid.
Gary Harris will see an immediate bump in minutes in San Antonio this coming sim. Here’s to hoping he can perform admirably!

As long as he does what he’s capable of doing and doesn’t try to do more than that, the kid will be fine. Playing next to Marcus [Smart] will make his life a hell of a lot easier. He needs to just stay within himself and play his game. We yell at him to shoot when he’s open and with Eric [Gordon] gone, he’s going to be hearing more of that from us.

Re: Time To Shine
After drafting him 9th, I thought you would have featured him more in the lineup, but as of now he's only gotten ~10 mpg. He still has some room to grow, and maybe he becomes a zone breaker guy for you (I'm assuming that'll be a more popular tactic against you guys now that Anderson is gone).

Especially against Gordon zone was perfect. I assume you wanted to say Anderson instead of Gordon?

okay, was confused why zone defense would be bad against a guy who is shooting 20-25% from range:D..

He's going to get his chance to be a zone buster now. He just has been shy with the trigger. I want him to shoot it when he gets his opportunities to do so.

I love that kid in real life.. Or should I say that I love every 3 and D SG hahaha
If you give him enough time I bet he blossoms to they point that you're going to start him and keep Waiters of the bench.
