Rubio - Knicks, prepare for a bright future together
Long term Knick Riki-full
Ricky is looking forward his new challenge as main guy for the Knicks

I'm sure no one around the league was surprised by this one. We bet high to obtain this kid and we weren't willing to let him go.
I could've even locked him for 10 years it that would've been possible, we are really serious when we say that we want him to retire a Knick.

He's the type of player we love to build a team around, both for being a player that not only performs individually but also makes other players around better. We also think that PG is the most important position to fill, so that's why we're thrilled to lock him down long term.

As for the agreement, we offered him the best opportunity both financially and in the sports area, so adding that to the players preference to continue to be part of the organization that always believed in him, SCDP had only to fill the paperwork to make it happen.

Now let's keep balling. Go Knicks!!  Basketball

He's having quite the season so far this year so I see no reason to not give him the deal you did. He's also the best PURE point guard in the league, having him makes it easy to build a team around.

Why are guys who just join teams agreeing to extensions?

EDIT: Just saw it was a max deal so if they're winning an he's getting paid, kind of makes sense.

Man how much I wished I could have a PG who can dish 8 assists and still be called a noob. Specially with a 8-1 A/TO ratio in that game hahaha
Still, Damian played great and dominated that POR - NYK game.

Easy decision and once again congrats on getting the player you'd been out to get for the face of your franchise and signing him for keeps (or at least 4 more yrs)!

Rubio makin' it look easy!

The change of city/team/system did him well, as he was a bit stuck in Minny.
He came to NYC to be the man in charge, and that change and playing the way he likes made the rest.

LOL Rubio noob

The first thing I did after watching the game results in that schedule page was to hurry to the DC page to see if he was injured! LOL

You know what I think about Rubio so far if you read my MVP article. He's putting up serious numbers right now and making the Knicks exciting again.

Getting Rubio was a smart move obviously but surrounding him with low usage wings who can shoot and defend (3&D) and a primary post option in Bosh really maximized his utility. I wouldn't have thought to do that, you really took a less is more approach. When we talked during the offseason I was imploring you to sign a starting wing who could create but you were completely right in what you did putting the offense in Rubio's hands.

Yeah, I remember our talks Wink
The idea was clear: put the ball in the hands of the guy averaging 0.018 TO/TCH and 0.120 A/TCH as much as possible!

Rubio is a super fun player to build around. Knicks have the right pieces to compete for the title this year and Rubio is the perfect player to deliver
