1st In-Season Ratings Changes Empty 1st In-Season Ratings Changes

Post by Jestor (LAL) Sun May 25, 2014 2:00 am

Didn't see the thread for it, but I checked mine and got the following:

Kelly Olynyk
--------------
+1 IQ

Mitch McGary
--------------
+1 defense

Anthony Bennett
-----------------
+1 scoring

Kendall Williams
--------------------
+1 handling
+1 discipline
+1 IQ

I don't think I've ever been more disgusted with a ratings update in my life. Otto Porter got jack shit, AB only got a single +1, and Alessandro Gentile got nothing too. Nothing for Kendall Marshall either.

1st In-Season Ratings Changes Empty Re: 1st In-Season Ratings Changes

Post by Higrade (LAC) Sun May 25, 2014 3:29 am

Yeah...when I looked at overall ratings (took screenshots for about 8 teams, most of the ones filled with youth) and majority moved zilch...nada. Nothing. The few that did move were only maybe 1 or 2 points.

Not familiar with the DDS3 system so perhaps there's not much that happens ?

Post by Higrade (LAC) Sun May 25, 2014 3:41 am

Maybe DDS3 has bigger ratings boosts at the 2nd rate change ? This is the first time I've ever been in a season with this version so really no idea how it might work different.

I haven't looked at the rookies work ethic & motivation yet either so not sure if that's a reason why we saw nothing significant. But for example, Milwaukee was a team I looked at and not a single player..not Andrew Harrison or Poythress received any movement. There was one player who did, Kyle Anderson +1scr +1def but that was it. Really a shame but like I said, could be due to a variety of reasons.

Thre players developed in Washington. Mainly our 6th man Gustavo Ayon but also Prigioni did it well (with 37y. LOL). Mozgov won a scoring point.

Gustavo Ayon

FGI + 2 (96-98)
SCR + 1 (53-54)
PAS + 1 (45-46)
HDL + 1 (47-48)
ORD + 1 (70-71)
DRB + 1 (63-64)
DEF + 1 (72-73)
BLK + 1 (56-57)
DI + 1 (73-74)
IQ + 1 (70-71)

Pablito Prigioni

SCR + 1 (43-44)
PAS + 1 (62-63)
HDL + 1 (57-58)
ORD + 1 (30-31)
DRB + 1 (37-38)
DEF + 1 (57-58)
STL + 1 (48-49)

Timofey Mozgov

SCR + 1 (55-56)

Yeah did the same. Most guys didnt develope. I remember last years 20. March update was huge for Vucevic and Schröder. Just no idea if was a noob back then and looked ingame or at the html. If I looked ingame the changes could have been due to scouts.

Alex Len got nearly Perfect work ethic and most of my staff is great in Development.. So I believe it isnt related to that. Same for Schröder. During TC for example Dennis got +10 in pass and handling.
Though it isnt nearly comparable to dds2, i believe Tim posted the Development of the Young guys over there? Never Seen +10 jumps in one category here.

and Prigoni is Year 3, so now we have the definitive answer of what determines player development in the age vs YD - it's entirely based on years in the league with the exception of endurance, which is age-based.

I think perhaps there's a difference of when development curves occur? DDS 2 the biggest jumps tend to happen in Year 1 and 2 (due largely to raw rookies as was the case of those players I profiled in NLL), with the biggest production starting in Year 3 in most cases because that's when endurance usually makes the biggest jump.

DDS 3 perhaps the big jumps in Year 2 and 3? Just a working theory for now based on this and what I can remember from NSL.

I'm probably going to just do an offline league in DDS3 just to get a better feel for stuff like this. Pretty sure WS has a ton of roster files to work with, from the 80s until now...so should be fun to experiment with.

Young guys got a few points here and there but noticed Goodwin actually has a little bit of potential now where as before, all I was seeing in game was already maxed out. It's possibly worth working with him now a bit.

I know but he was showing zero in any area before and now I'm seeing some. Doesn't mean he has any. Means it's worth considering giving him some playing time to see if there is anything there.

Yeah mainly looking at my workouts/scouting reports from last season to get a feeling for the rookies. Potentials are unbelievable biased as it seems. Only Myles knows how good our rookies really are =D...
BTW toronto you are really heavy crowded at SG, lol Very Happy.. Ola, Rasheed, Archie.. Hard to find playingtime for all of them.

Interesting theory Tim! could be true that the learncurves differ. Would be interesting if AK made a screenshot of Bradley Beal, BI of Barnes or Andrei of Lillard/Henson. I believe we cant look at MKG as he was already nearly developed before the update.

1st In-Season Ratings Changes Empty Re: 1st In-Season Ratings Changes

Post by Jake0890 (WAS) Sun May 25, 2014 11:17 am

Ben McLemore
+1 SCR

Jamaal Franklin
+1 DEF

Willie Cauley
+1 SCR
+1 DRB
+1 DI
+1 DEF

Joe Jackson
+1 IQ

Deshaun Thomas
+1 DEF

Would've liked bigger jumps for McLemore and Franklin, but Cauley improved decently, so I guess it was a decent ratings change for us.

Bradley Beal was +1scr +1di

MKG +1def

Lillard +1scr
Henson nothing

The first ratings boost is obviously pretty pointless in DDS3....I think we'll see much more improvements in the 2nd boost hopefully. I had a lot of trades I was considering based on this boost and when nothing happened...definitely disappointed.

Well…

It didn't fair much better in Orlando either.

Nerlens Noel

+1 SCR

Giannis Antetokounmpo

+2 FGI
+2 SCR
+1 DEF

Shane Larkin

+1 FGI
+2 SCR

Ricky Ledo

+4 FGI
+3 SCR

Andrew Wiggins

+4 FGI
+2 SCR
+4 DEF
+1 DI
+1 IQ

Andre Roberson

+1 DEF

I was keeping my fingers crossed for some bigger jumps but I guess it just didn't happen.

I was really looking for some jumps in Noel with rebounding and defense.
