If you're over the cap but under the luxury tax.

There was still no official announcement made...so is FA open or what ? I don't see a schedule anywhere either.....

Funny... prior to the start of FA I knew exactly who I'd target, now that it's here I'm having second thoughts.

Well.. I have a few questions, as usual xD

I'm over the tax now, but if I renounce a few players (I'm planning to do this), I'd be under the tax.. So, if I renounce a few guys now, does that mean I'm gonna have my 5M full MLE exception? Or I'm only allowed to use the 3.5M exception as I started the FAP over the tax?

Also, can I split MLE in two or 3 players, like teams can do at NBA?

I think the renouncements have to be made before FA. Try going in the game and making an MLE offer to a player to see how much it is.

As for splitting.the MLE, that can't be done unfortunately.

Around how long can we expect FA to last? I think a general timeline/schedule would be good so people can know where they're at and all.

Agreed. I think we need a good timeline so people don't wait around for rumors as well as the agents don't just sit back and wait for better deals to trickle.

It's shorter than it would be if we were using the game.

I really think 2 weeks is a good timetable. Its been 2 days already and no one has signed yet, so we've got 12 days to sign everyone, which is perfectly reasonable imo.

Now that the Faried signing has put me slightly over the cap, do I get any kind of MLE? Thanks.

If you had more than 5 mil in cap space and used it, you don't get any sort of MLE. That's how it works in the NBA anyway.

No you don't. MLE eligibility is determined at the beginning of FA

Just curious to know, am I allowed to trade my rookies until end of FA, like it is ingame? Or are they already TR until day90.
