Rockets Report: The "Iggy" Way
20pts 4.5rebs 3.7asts... Andre Iguodala has been doing it all (as usual) while keeping the Rockets afloat while SG James Harden has been out with a broken hand. With the All Star Break swiftly approaching, Houston currently stands at 7th Place in a Western Conference that has seen many dramatic trades being made by already strong Western Conference teams to make them even more of a powerhouse than they already once were.
In last night's victory against the visiting Los Angeles Lakers he led Houston with 40pts 8rebs and 4asts.
In the meantime Andre's continued strong play has garnered high praise from the team's other Superstar James Harden.
Well I've always thought he was a Superstar and didn't get the complete credit he deserved... without Iggy I wouldn't be able to do some of the things I've been able to do, namely this season and uh, it's about time he's started getting recognized for the player he is and I'm sure glad to have him as a teammate...
It's great ya know? It's great to have teammates feel that way about you and I've always thought myself to be a certain caliber player and a team player who doesn't mind stepping back and blending my game for the overall benefit of the team and uh playing next to a guy like James allows things to come much easier out there on the court for both of us and the other guys as well...
The Rockets have suffered a rash of injuries lately that have sidelined Terrence Ross (sprained toe 7 more days) and Danilo Gallinari (sprained ankle 4 more days) in addition to James Harden (broken hand 2 more weeks) and we're told that management is seriously considering sitting Harden out for more than the entire month of February although he'll be cleared to play just after the All Star Break.
In the interim the team has signed veteran scoring guard and former slam dunk champion Jason Richardson for the remainder of the season as a precaution.
