2014 Swish Mock Draft - Pick #11 (WAS)
With the 11th overall pick in the 2014 Swish Mock Draft, the Washington Wizards select Gary Harris from Michigan State
Although some may feel that Harris is a bit of a reach at this point in the draft, the only position that the Wizards are really in need are at the wings. Harris has the potential to be a very good outside shooter and defender, and though he might not have the upside to do much else, that's all you really need next to a dynamic point guard like John Wall.
Harris to Washington seems almost like a sure deal. There isn't much reason for the prior ten teams to pick him, while the Wizards are too stacked up front and at PG.

Was wondering where Gary Harris would fall. I'm hoping he goes before my pick at #12 so that will allow another prospect that is actually on our radar to fall to us. He's a definite fit in Washington and would fill a void on the Wizards' roster. As long as he is efficient and isn't using up too many possessions, he'll play perfectly with that team.

The Wizards have Blake, Valanciunas, Seraphin, and Booker up front, and they're all pretty young. Then they have Wall and Canaan at PG, so I really can't see them skipping out on Harris.
He may not be considered lottery-talent, but he's undoubtedly the best fit IMO, unless there's some kind of trade happening before then.

Hard to read that. I somehow really liked what I saw during scouting. Thought all the time he could end up being a Klay/KCP with defense.. Dont know if Im completely wrong. Maybe I should go through my scouting reports again before I submit my workouts, haha:D

Harris is a possibility, but I also think they could go Shabazz because they really, really need a wing.

If Harris falls this far the Wizards have to take him, I agree. He's really raw (18 IIRC) which is why he did so poorly in the combine I think. Based on potential he's a top 10 pick at worst.orangeparka (MIA) wrote:Rizzo (NO) wrote:Was wondering where Gary Harris would fall. Harris is a wing (wing = SG/SF i.e swingman), but more then that WAS started Terrence Williams at SG for most of the season so there is a huge need for an off-ball spacer like Harris beside Wall if he's there at #11.Jake0890 (MIN) wrote:Harris is a possibility, but I also think they could go Shabazz because they really, really need a wing.

Whatever the terminology, Terrence Williams is still less ducky than Jan Vesely. Vesely has to be replaced, at least Williams is a stopgap guy until a better option comes along. Not saying they should take Shabazz over Harris, but I think it should be on the table.

Wilson Chandler is 12/5/2 with decent defense, I think he's like 27, he could hold down SF for a season over Vesely BUT I do agree everything should be on the table for sure.
