2014 Swish Mock Draft - Pick #8 (MIN)
With the 8th overall pick in the 2014 Swish Mock Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves select Willie Cauley from Kentucky.
The Timberwolves just got a haul of players for Ricky Rubio, and the only remaining hole on their roster without a young player at the position is at center. At this point, taking for need over BPA is acceptable, especially since the elite prospects pool has all but dried up. Thankfully, Cauley can be a great fit for the Timberwolves with his good all-around game next to Kevin Love.
There are some other center prospects that the Timberwolves can look at, but Cauley seems like the best fit, and won't be considered a reach at #8 considering how high he's been mocked over the year. They're set at the other positions for now, so look for the team to take a center no matter what.

Not a big fan of him, but if hes a decent center he'll be worth it.

I doubt he lasts this long anyway, but if he did, I'm not convinced I would even take him. Who knows.

Pretty spot on Swish, Minny has no C so WCS seems like the logical choice.

Agreed, I think Minnesota goes with a center at this pick assuming this mock is true to form.

I feel like there may be one or two centers better, but Cauley fits best IMO next to Love, who's a scorer first and foremost.

I tried like hell to get a center in FA last off-season. Kaman, that ass took a smaller deal to go to Indy than come play next to Love.
