2014 Swish Mock Draft - Pick #7 (SAC)
With the 7th overall pick in the 2014 Swish Mock Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Perry Ellis from Kansas.
Where to begin? The Kings just need any kind of talent right now, and with the team having cleared house with Al Horford and Josh Smith gone, they can't go wrong with Ellis, the intriguing and talented PF prospect. Their needs are pretty much at every position right now, so it makes sense to take the best prospect available and not think about need or fit at all.
They now also hold the 9th pick, where they can potentially target a good perimeter player, and the 17th pick, which should allow them to fill out some other hole on the team with youth. Their best strategy at this point would just be to get the best prospect available at each slot, much like the Orlando Magic in last year's draft, which worked out very well for them.

Dont know much about him but with the recent trade this would make sense.

I think the Kings have a lot of options with this pick, considering they don't have many pieces on their roster. Just go BPA. I could see Gary Harris going to SAC as well.

I like Ellis' game and, like you said, the void of quality bigs on the Kings' roster at this point is gaping to say the least.

I think they take a different big here. Who graded out very nicely for me.

Yep. There is a talented big man falling in this scenario, someone is going to get a steal.

Yeah I believe a Center is taken here. Harris will be still on the board at #9 for SAC because Minnesota just dont need another SG with Franklin/McLemore and I somehow didnt like what I saw scouting Ellis.
