Battle in New York City
The Nets-Knicks rivalry takes new heights this season for the confrontation among two friends
When the Nets moved to Newark, all that separated the Knicks' and Nets' home buildings was a commuter train ride. But in all those years, the rivalry between the two teams was hardly white-hot. And so the thinking went that when the Nets moved to Brooklyn, they'd finally become true rivals with the Knicks — battling for New York City supremacy as their respective fan bases developed a sincere dislike of their neighbor across the river.
The thing with rivalries, though, is that they have to happen organically. Yes, there were some spirited crowds last year when the Knicks and Nets met, but that real sense of hatred for an opponent doesn't just happen with a change of address and a new uniform set. That level of animosity must be developed over a period of time. What the Nets did last night, though, totally changes the dynamic of this rivalry. Now, the new GM of the Brooklyn has increased the importance of the games.
Goikiri is more than happy to fan the flames of rivalry between the Nets and Knicks. When goikiri signs for the Nets, he knew that Jamal controlled the office of the Knikerbockers. They are friends a lot of years ago and they started playing NBA sim games together. Since they began to play, the result is 1 championship for either one.
Goikiri won the championship with Celtics playing in NBA Live 2003 game, in prehistory

I will comment all the news that appear of the two teams in this post.

Rivalries are always fun. The fact that you guys have known each other for years only makes it better. With that said, I'm glad to not have ever met that scumbag Scum Scorched or else this Pelican/Bobcat rivalry would be even uglier!

Great changes in New York. Jamal won ring in other league (I think in SH league) with Rubio and Ricky needs a 3D player in SG position (players like C.Lee or D.Jones) for make a lot of touches and asists. I hope more movements in MSG.

Veteran duo show in Nets with Brown and DiLeo. The influence of fanaticism of goikiri for NBA and NCAA historical games demonstrated in this type of contracting. Go old men!

Important resign for Nets. Unidimensional coach (only D,D,D) will try something for improve Nets defensive defects.

Haha nice that these two teams' GMs have some history. It'll be a nice rivalry to add to our league, since we only really have one (NOP and CHA, which doesn't even make much sense IMO).

LOL at all the pictures, don't know which one is better! Maybe the 'Spike Jamal Lee' and 'Jay-z goikiri'
It's going to be a real fun battle in the Atlantic this year now that Goikiri's in charge ofthe team across the bridge.. err, I mean, the Nets
Four interesting matchups for sure, and from now on four games inked in red on our schedule!
This rivalry deserves one of those matchups happening on Christmas Day by the way! We'll contact Stern, Silver or whoever is in charge about that
And of course, it should be @MSG, and not in the other stadium across the bridge...
Anyway let's be polite, and say #HelloBrooklyn as they deserve

I wouldn't expect you, or anyone for that matter, to understand. You're talking about two GMs who are both clinically insane in their own rights.

Interesting battle, i know jamal and goikiri very well. I remember when we played in sh league with nba live 2003.
All trades were possible. No rules. After we learn more things, and we played better.

This is really great. Really looking forward to this little rivalry we've already got going. Will be tons of fun to watch this develop over time.
